fobar (9), Søgne, Norway does not count - explanation | | September 18, 2009 Best place for cask in Scandinavia? The bar has a whole wall with casks and a self invented lift system to handle it all. The selection in tap is only overrun by the additional selection in bottled beers. | | PorterCall (10), (Formerly UK), Denmark | | September 15, 2009 Wow, what a pub. I can honestly say probably the best pub in Denmark I have ever had the good fortune to have been in. I love the way the casks are lined up behind the bar in full view in all their glory. The bunches of hops hanging from the ceiling are a really nice touch as well. First class ale, I had Summer Lightning and Spitfire. Friendly staff and a really nice feel to the place. Good prices as well. Will definitely be paying this place a visit next time I am in Aalborg. I LOVE this place. | Fracheal (1), , Denmark does not count - explanation | | April 19, 2009 Excellent place. Their selection of on-tap-beer is the best I’ve seen. The atmosphere is nice and calm, and the prices aren’t to steep. The staff know their beers, and they always have the rigth glass glass for your beer. | arealpub (5), , Denmark does not count - explanation | | October 20, 2008 If you enjoy your beers and fancy a relaxed evening in a cosy surroundings then this is the place to visit. I was in with some friends at the weekend and even though people say there is no music, I can say that there was some chilled out music while we were there and when I asked the manager about the music he said that it had been an experiment that had worked and that would never be too loud so customers could not have a chat. It did work! service was very personal and friendly and the selection was impressive.I would recommend this place to anyone. | CelestialFury (1), Lurgan, Northern Ireland does not count - explanation | | September 26, 2008 Up to 18 Real ales on gravity pour. Knowledgeable staff willing to get you the right beer for your taste. Have a hard job getting a pub in the UK with this selection of ales. about 30 different keg beers make it an outstanding selection. | | Jonte (31), Gothenburg, Sweden | | August 11, 2008 [ Updated February 26, 2009 ] This place is a must if you are into Cask Ales. Also a decent selection of other beers on tap, and some whisky as well. You get the correct glass for your beer and the prices are reasonable. No music, but sports on TV. Separate smoking room. | | baggio (19), norrtälje, Sweden | | May 5, 2008 My kind of place. Located in central Aalborg. Very nice lineup of real-ales (12-13 casks but only 6-7 were available). Had Aventinus on tap when i was there. Great selection of european beers and english beers. Very laid back environment and friendly staff. | | thewolf (123), Kolding, Denmark | | January 7, 2008 Went here on a visit to Aalborg. Wonderful looks, spacious with a great display of cask ales. Sadly there were only beer in about half of them (but that was probably because it was a Monday). But it is rare as well as good beer. Prices are fair and the service good. | Thure (8), Aalborg, Denmark does not count - explanation | | May 9, 2007 This place is the ducks nuts! They have the largest selection of cask ales in all of Europe. They have a huge selection on taps. The staff knows their beer and gives a good service, even though they can appear a bit grumpy from time to time. They have different pies with sauces as baar food. They have a nice selection of whiskey with a few rarties in between. They have the best ventilation system in town, so you wont get borthered and you can really enjoy your beer. You should wisit this place and you should take a detour for it. It is that good! | | faroeviking (108), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands | | February 6, 2007 Good cozy place. No music though the tv can be quite noisy but hey a lot of English come there to watch football. In general good service but at times it can be pretty dull, depends who is working. Tasty brews indeed with the right glass for the right beer with the right coaster. |
