Very strange to see all these German beers on tap in Abu Dhabi, the venue can get very smoky and noisy, the food menu is all German style and reasonably priced. They did have guiness in the chillers as well.

This place is interestingly enough both completely like every other hotel bar in Abu Dhabi and completely unique. Germans drinking pilsner with dishdasha-donning sheikhs, plied with cigarettes by Filipino escorts, and serviced by unsettled middle easterns. The menu looked good. Not the food, the menu. I sat here and sucked down a Krombacher and a Paulaner Hefeweissbier, while watching Croatia play Iceland in handball, inhaling copious quantities of second hand smoke, and fending off the pervasive boredom of the British. You’ve got two options in Abu Dhabi now, this and the Belgian Cafe, which wins for having a better array of beers, better service, less smoke, more scantily-clad Americans, and better prices.

Number one pick in the country for sure. Great beer and a lot of fun. Been without beer for a longtime and this hit the spot.

May 2008. Inside the beautiful Rotana Beach Club in downtown Abu Dhabi, the Brauhaus is a little slice of Germany. Complete with an authentic menu of German culinary delights, the Brauhaus features 6-8 good German selections, albeit heavily leaning towards Pilsners, with 1 or 2 hefeweizens. The service was diligent and attentive, and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to sample the beers, but the 1/2 liter steins and pillow-topped weizen glasses made my mouth water.
