| UDBeernut (53), Saugerties, New York | | April 22, 2012 Ate at bar and did the tours today. Had a bratwurst sandwich and a few Gold Helles. Both were good, service is ok. The tour was great. Bar is small and Resturant is old worldly and not the best atmosphere. | | italianjohn (127), Penndel, Pennsylvania | | October 17, 2011 Make a day of this place .. show up early and check out the antique mall attached. Lots of nice antique furniture and friendly dealers .... They have their own fresh bread and cheese ..... We went in October on a Sunday and had a blast at the beer garden ... Live german music and the Stoudt family even got into the party and when the beer lines got long they even helped serve beers ..... Ed Sr. gave us a tour of the brewery and the food was decent german ..... The restaurant is beautiful inside and my next trip back I will definitely eat there .... staff was friendly and the prices were decent $3.50-$4.75 a pint .... Make a day of your trip there and check the website for events | | fata2683 (125), Tucson, Arizona | | June 18, 2011 stopped here right at opening to check the brewery out on our way to Troegs. Large building in an antique town, little shop to buy swag and beer to go, friendly service. I have still not eaten here. | | alobar (43), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | June 8, 2011 Very Victorian on the inside. Totally unexpected. Food was exceptional. Service was stellar and professional. Beer was decent. Would definitely return. | | DiarmaidBHK (307), Pennsylvania | | May 27, 2011 This place looks like your grandmother’s house, if she was Victorian lady with a thing for political memorabilia. It’s very striking and not at all what you expect from a brewpub or a restaurant but it somehow works. This is a place where it’s impossible to be a stranger for very long. I got their an hour before closing so the vibe was laid-back. The beers I had were all outstanding, especially the Kolsch they had on cask. It was certainly one of the best hamburgers I’ve had in a while. And since I ate in the bar area I was 6 feet from the cooler so I could take a sixer of the hefe with me. I just wished the place was open later than 10. I’ll definitely be back. | TheVikingWL (8), , New Jersey does not count - explanation | | September 9, 2010 Took a trip here that one of our distributors paid for. We had lunch, took a tour of the brewery and bakery, and drank a ton of beer they had on tap. All the employees were very kind and helpful, and even our tour guide walked around with a beer in his hand as he explained things! Many of the beers they had on draft I’ve never tried before but I enjoyed most, especially their pumpkin offering. If it wasn’t so far I would definitely go back many times. | | jeremytoni (110), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | August 21, 2010 Nice bar area with a good showing of Stoudts brews. | gekosoave (9), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | August 10, 2010 I have enjoyed their beer festivals for years. Stoudt’s always has all of their varieties to sample. I really enjoyed the Fat Dog Stout, Kolsch was enjoyable, APA is an old stand-by. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | July 13, 2010 This is a sprawling place, with a pub on one side and a restaurant on the other. Both menus are available on the pub side. The food was OK, not great, as was the customer service. I loved the ambience... the room I was in was filled with Presidental campaign memorabilia... right up my alley. There were other rooms with other decor, and overall the place seemed warm and cozy. The beers are good, but they’re a bit pricy... $4.50 for 12 ounce pours and the bottles to go were also a bit pricy. Overall a good stop, but even though this was the place I was most looking forward to on my vacation, it fell a little bit short. | | djaquay (10), Ephrata, Pennsylvania | | July 12, 2010 Enjoyable place, stopped by for lunch on the way back from the airport. Had the veal sausage (full plate, and everything was delicious), a Lemon Kolsch (interesting) and a Smooth Hoperator (very good!). Service (at the bar) was friendly and good, especially considering how busy he was for much of the time. Menu seems pricey, but the food’s quite good. Will be coming back with wife and/or friends. |
