6 reviews for De Bierloods
| sayravai (93), Helsinki, Finland | | August 2, 2009 Really a unique shop with extensive Belgian beer selection, reasonable (store) prices, and very friendly service from the owners. Too bad you need a car to get there, so the cold beer selection is mainly accessible for locals or your passengers, if any. Visited on a quiet Sunday evening, so hard to say how well everything works during rush hours. No barcode scanners, so be prepared to spend some time here, if getting one bottle of each beer. Plenty of label beers, yes - and the shop part was also pretty hot with sun shining through the roof and no air conditioning. Most of the bottles had collected a fair amount of dust, which makes you wonder how long they’ve actually stood there. Small bottle selection was extensive, but 0.75s well below average. On the other hand, there were several larger bottles (1.5 liters and up) available. All this is, of course, just unnecessary whining from a spoiled beer geek. Average customers buying a case of their favorite beer, or spending a few hours in the self-service bar will probably do just fine. Big plus for the bar for being non-smoking, and a minus for arranging the beers alphabetically and not by brewery. | BoBoChamp (2), Gent, Belgium does not count - explanation | | April 9, 2009 Very extensive collection of Belgian beers, esp. the big Belgian breweries. Watch out for label brews! Very helpful staff, but the service is too slow, sometimes waiting for 15-20 minutes at the cashier. They definetly need extra staff. Very nice café downstairs, with a very big selection. The prices in the shop and café are quiet high by Belgian standards. Because of the extensive choice many beers are already expired. That’s sad. | Gualthiero (6), Antwerp, Belgium does not count - explanation | | March 30, 2009 Very nice selction, to buy and taste. Amazing refrigarator wall that doesn’t make it easy to choose. Landlord knows what he’s talking about. | Trappistenbier (1), , Belgium does not count - explanation | | August 15, 2008 It’s a beer shop, a beer pub, and a festivity saloon.
Opened in July 2008 !
We visited recently and were AMAZED !!! Those people are running an extraordinary beer pub / beer shop. Really too good to be true. But it IS !!
800 different Belgian beers available, and this at shop, equal bar. The cozy bar is located at the basement.
No taps, only bottles. Bottles have to be chosen by yourself out of the big row of fridges placed alongside the wall. Yes, self-service. Original, and unseen here in Belgium!
This place is without any hesitation the revelation of 2008 !
BTW, their original house beer ’Koantjesbier (a re-take), brewed at Proef, was excellent ! | | Jerre (50), Waregem, Belgium | | July 26, 2008 Was here on 24 july ’08.
Amazing choice. Great place, not so easy to find.
A new really greet beer store.
And most recommend is the self-servic in the bar. Never seen before,
there is hes offer of different beer to 800 !
to return certainly still | | JorisPPattyn (21), Antwerpen, Belgium | | July 8, 2008 THIS IS NOT JUST A BEERSTORE, but BOTH shop and bar. Opening hours: as stated above, plus Fri 14-21(shop)/20-03(bar) Sat 14-21(s) Sun 18-...(s)/28-....(b).
In the most unlikely place, but a real oasis in a Belgian beerdesert. Just beginning, but plans are there, and seem just realistic. Have revived the Koantjesbier (Proef) as exclusitivity. And the self-servic in the bar is something you ought to see for yourself. |
