fine location, really regional beers are available like Schlägl which is from the town, but also international highlights for instance from brew dog, good service the chief himself knows alot about beer and which food to combinate and his wife gisela ist really nice in serving

A very large beer selection from Upper Austria but also from Belgium and the UK. You can learn a lot about beers from the very knowledgeable owner. He stirs the Bock beer with a glue stick in order to generate a caramelization. Great food and a beer dinner is offered. You can stay in a hotel which is part of this place. It is located close to several great Austrian breweries (Hofstetten, Schlägl). An absolut must for beer tourists.

An outstanding place. I enjoyed an incredible 5-course dinner here, paired with 5 local beers. Outstanding beer selection as well. Service is quick and friendly. The owner is more-than-familiar quite a nice guy, as well. The only minor negative (for me) was the cigarette smoke within the bar/dining room. Other than that, this place was incredible.

Beer hotel and restaurant between the villages of Aigen and Schlagl in northern Austria. Amazing selection of local and rare beers (all the Westies, other trappists, local beers), Owner/beersommolier Schiffner is thoroughly familiar with beers and brewing. Offers a six course gourmet meal with wonderful beer pairings as the Bierkulinarium. Great service, great selection, great food. Also a bed and breakfast! That makes it a wonderful beer geek trip spot, as the owner will regale you all night and then you can sleep on premises.
