88 I have to review Lockview. Easily one of my favorite places to go in Akron.
Atmosphere: if you want to go any time after 7 on Friday or Saturday, plan on calling ahead, and once you’re there expect a very loud and crowded atmosphere. The food and beer selection is worth it, though. If you go during lunch the atmosphere is pleasant. Also, at night it is pretty dark.
Quality: great food and great beer. My personal favorite is the #2 with sweet potato fries.
Service: the waiters and waitresses are good here. Very knowledgeable on the beer selection and friendly.
Selection: best in Akron hands down. Always have some different beers on tap. Lots of Rogues and Southern Tiers.
Food: I love the food here. My only complaint would be quantity. Sometimes I leave still wanting more food, but maybe that just means I need to drink more filling beer, haha!
Value: prices are pretty average in terms of food and beer. Expect to spend around $20-25 for two people’s meals. |
86 They have a great selection of draft and bottle selection. While the food selection is limited, it is delicious. I love their grilled cheese. |
86 Great beer selection in the bottles. Food is awesome but fattening. Atmosphere is unique. Fun in the summer for the upstairs deck and bar! |
88 The best beer bar in Akron hands down. The owner always keeps the best selection on drafts and bottles including any seasonal that comes out. They also concentrate on carrying the best beers Ohio distribution companies can offer. Southern Tier, Bells, Founders, Lagunitas, and Troegs are always present. I have to admit I regulary visit this bar and rate beers from it and am definitely partial to the place. If your a ratebeerian and your in town or you live in Akron and don’t know about this bar then you might as well delete your account. Oh, and the food is good to, even if it is just appetizers and grilled cheese for the most part on the menu. |
82 good bottles and drafts. Food limited but good. the need to spend some more money and fix the place up ,,,, it looks like it is half way complete. |
78 Family friendly. Long bar with table seating in the middle and booths on the side and rooftop patio (open seasonly). Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Not crowed on a Friday afternoon but not empty either, you can seat yourself. One flat screen in center of bar. Taps are: Rogue Double Dead Guy, Great Lakes Seasonal (subject to availability), Guinness, Rogue Hazelnut Brown, Paulaner Hefe-Weisse, Victory Golden Monkey, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Delirium Tremens, Bell’s Two Hearted and Bell’s Oberon. Bottle list has some nice micros including Troegs, Southern Tier, Lagunitas but also the regular Rogues, Lindemans and lots of Brooklyns. Also have a new arrivals list. Oldies on the radio and probably the original old school dinette bar stools at the bar. Grilled cheese dominates the menu. Use fresh bread from Breadsmith of Lakewood and daily specials. Had a Southern Tier IPA and Lagunitas Censored with a great pulled pork sandwich and tater tots so I was happy. |
