| Lubiere (349), Ottawa, Ontario | | May 6, 2012 A super coll bar, in an early 1900s setting, communal seating, free cheese pizza with every pint bought, nice and affordable upscale pub menu, good beer selection, friendly service...a must in Albany. | | UDBeernut (53), Saugerties, New York | | February 29, 2012 Given a flyer for this place while at Pearlpalooza waiting for Mutemath. Was going to go the Pump Station after wards but it peeked our interest. This place is fucking hardcore.
16 amazing beers on tap: Green Flash IPA, 60 Minute, Laugunitas IPA, Ommegang Abbey, Southern Tier 2X, Stone and Unibrue Blanche de Chambly, just to name a few.
The Best Part: Free personal pizza with every pint. Turn in your tickets to the kitchen. Pizza is rather tasty too.
Atmosphere is totally beer hall with picnic tables to sit in either inside or out. Lots of room. Nice out door padio. Cheerful crowd. Alternative music is blasting on the sound system.... awesome.
Growlers to go available too | | jmulv (18), East Greenbush, New York | | February 22, 2012 This bar is awesome. Great selection of all sorts of beers. Nice ambience with an outdoor deck, open area downstairs, and another bar and mechanical bull upstairs. Beers can be a bit pricey, but you get a free personal pizza with each beer. Overall, this a great spot. | | Boliv (35), New York | | February 4, 2012 Stopped by for the first time on a Wednesday night with some buddies. They had a nice selection of seasonal beers and local stuff. Turns out it was Bingo night, and it was pretty fun. The winners received a free growler of their choice of draught beer. (They also have Jenga night and other game nights). Really interesting atmosphere; a little dim, but in a very pretty stone building that you would never assume to be a bar. Every beer purchase gets you a ticket for a free personal pizza. Sure, it’s essentially Ragu on a wafer with cheese, but after a few beers it’s pretty damn good. They also boast Albany’s only mechanical bull. Recently returned with my wife and brother on a weekend, and it was very crowded. The food is great here (goat cheese grilled cheese, etc.). Really quite tasty. Definitely one of the best bars in the area. |
