| jmulv (18), East Greenbush, New York | | February 22, 2012 Great beer selection (all German styles though, so you have to keep that in mind). Great atmosphere, very laid back, casual. Saturday and Sunday soccer is great there. The pricing is fair, not too expensive, not too cheap. And as added bonuses: peanuts, darts, a table hockey game, and boots for birthdays. Best bar in Albany hands down | | Cletus (211), Connecticut | | June 15, 2011 Typical German pub/restaurant. Fun place to slam a few litres of lager and have some German food. | | Boliv (35), New York | | June 28, 2010 [ Updated May 30, 2011 ] Food is pretty good, I can’t think of too many other places to get German sausage in Albany. Recommend the sausage platter, good stuff. The beer is a tad overpriced, think roughly $12/liter, but the selection is pretty good, and the only other place to get that variety of foreign beer is Mahar’s. What can I say, I really enjoy places that let you throw refuse on the floor (peanut shells, in this case). Free birthday boot (2 liter house beer)! And, they televise world cup football matches on plasma tv’s! Pretty good time, nice place for dinner and beers. | scubasteev (7), Albany , New York does not count - explanation | | September 27, 2009 Wolff’s has potential to be really great but the beers are over priced. Not enough gals working there either. It’s a sausage fest for sure. Lot’s of free peanuts. I haven’t tried any food there yet. Many places have failed in that particular location so we’ll see if they can maintain their popularity. I do want a boot full of Spaten for my birthday come December...so let’s hope they don’t close their doors before that! | | basewars (10), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin | | March 28, 2009 This is a German beer garden style restaurant serving only German and Belgian beers. It is very casual with saw dust and peanut shells on the floors and seating at picnic tables. The location is essentially a garage and the door is open on nice days. The food is authentic German wursts and the like. Fantastic.
Plenty of beers. 3 sizes for drafts up to a liter. There is also a birthday boot. |
