A very good brew pub with a great local selection and good bottled offerings as well. Great food selection that gives you a great pub fare with their own brews in the mix. Beer batter fries are wonderful as are the burgers.

Stopped in here for dinner after taking the kids to the Crayola factory in Easton. We drove through a rather rough neighborhood before getting here, which made us worry a bit, but the place itself is in a nicer part of town. This is a rather large working brew pub with the fermentors and brewing equipment visible from the seating area. It has a nice large bar and comfortable seating. It gets loud inside, but thats to be expected in a place like this. The crowd was mixed with some locals, happy hour crowd, and families. The service was excellent. It was a very busy Saturday night, yet our server gave us a lot of time talking about the beers and menu. His knowledge of both was very extensive. I was impressed. The food was pretty good and there were a lot of choices including some traditional German offerings alongside brewpub fare. The beers were also good. They had about 8 different selections on their sampler tray and all were solid. We finished up our meal with a bottle of the bourbon barrel aged Insidious. Very good beer! Overall, I enjoyed going here. The food and beers are both above average. Stop in if you can.

Allentown Brew Works is great. It is a solid 45 min drive for me and ... Food: ...the pretzels are worth it alone. They are amazing and I don’t even really like pretzels. The cheese steak is also the best I’ve had and I’ve had many, including the top rated ones in Philly. Burgers are also excellent, I like the Melter. Beer: The beer is very good with about 8 - 12 brews on tap from serving tanks. Growlers to go and there are also a few 750ml bottles for take home (usually these beers are only on tap once a year for a short time when bottled.) There is also a large selection of other imports and local bottles. I refill my growler just about every visit. Service: I have sat the bar 3 times and had 2 different tenders, they were both very good. I’ve sat at tables inside and outside, each time the wait staff was different but always good. This has become one of my favorite destinations and I’ve been visiting at least twice a month. I have never had a hard time finding a parking spot in front but there are not many spots. I always go for lunch so it may be more difficult to park in the evening.

I stopped in with my wife and daughter before beginning an afternoon of shopping at the Lehigh Valley Mall. The interior is spacious with super high ceilings with a definite modern feel to the place. There was a nice selection of eight or nine of their beers on tap. Food was very good. My wife had a pear and goat cheese pizza which she enjoyed very much. I had a Philly cheesesteak, which was ok but not great. My wife and daughter were each able to get a free chocolate mousse dessert by sending a text message and showing our server the response. I will be stopping back again the next time I am in the area.

Love this place. Lots of open space. Three floors and a solid beer selection-including beers of the world. Food is very good though portions are small. Prices are decent. Service is generally excellent.

This beer trip took us to the Allen Town Brew works. Clean place, pretty big with the brew works in plain site and exposed. Service and value great, had a menu that seemed to please a wide verity. Sampled some German food which pared well with some of the beers (Octoberfest). Had the sampler tray and they were really good portions. Regular rotation beers had a fresh taste but the Pharaoh Reserve was unique and interesting. Enjoyed the brewery and worth the trip!

Since this place opened, it’s probably the best in Allentown now to get good beer. The selection of drafts is usually pretty good over at Bethlehem, but for my first time here at Allentown, it was kind of lacking. They had a lot of summer-style beers on, obviously since I was visiting in July. But they were extremely average seasonals. The hefe was alright, they had two beers made with berries and one brewed with limes. The selection was a little disappointing. The best offering was the Hop Explosion, but I had previously enjoyed that in Bethlehem. The next best of the bunch was the Pawn Shop Porter. The sandwiches I had were very tasty. The service started off very, very well. Michael was a great server until it came time to bring the check. My wife and waited almost 20 minutes just to get the check. At that point, I figured either bring me the check or get me another beer while I’m waiting for it. The brewpub is very easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the neighborhood. This is definitely a place that I’ll be visiting again.

Very similar to Bethlehem. Has a nice selection of their beers and pretty good food. Staff was knowledgable and friendly.

We drove up on Sunday for some lunch. The ambiance was okay. It seemed a little too cluby for me. The theme centers around the steel industry that once thrived there. Like many steel towns, it died after the mills closed. It’s a shame. This is a nice looking place with a lousy location. The service was lack-luster. At one point we asked for dessert menus and our server disappeared for 10 minutes. The food was decent, but nothing to get excited about. I had the sesame tuna. The desserts were excellent though. They eight beers on tap. All of their regulars and: Hefeweizen, Spring Ale, and Grand Cru. The Grand Cru was a big buttery mess. The Hop Explosion and porter were pretty good. Their Pilsner was also well made. Overall, it was a decent trip. It’s a bit far from me. I’d go again if I were in the area, but it’s not worth the trip.
