We cycled here from the centre of Amsterdam on a wonderfully sunny day on 29.09.11, it wasn’t so far and we got a decent selection of beers including De Molen ’Bat out of Hell’, Emelisse Imperial Dopplebock and a good smattering of other mainly dutch beers. Its close to a decent Mitre store just 1/4 - 1/2 mile back up the road towards the centre. The owner was a nice chap, please to have come here. Nice chocolate with pink peppercorns.

I gave this place a 10/10 for food because it’s a deli with some excellent food things. The beer collection though small is fine as well. Some german, american and local beers. Also De Molen, Mikkeler and Jopen. Not in a tourist area, unless you are strolling around the old Ajax stadium grounds, it’s not too far from there.

Nice delicatessen in residential Watergraafsmeer. Limited but choice selection of NL, D, UK, DK, USA beers. I found a few that I haven’t rated yet. The UK stock changes the most frequently. This is quite far off the beaten (tourist) path but the best in the area.

A friendly cornershop deli on a modern square in southeast Amsterdam. Stocks around 75 beers, the best range in the neighbourhood. Local brewers De Prael and ‘t IJ are well-represented, plus there are some harder-to-find (in Amsterdam) Belgian brewers like Dupont and Sint Bernard. Also has Weihenstephaner’s full range of wheat beers, and some British oddities including Old Slug Porter. Best of all is Brouwerij de Molen’s Hel & Verdoemenis Imperial Stout. If you’re hungry check out the homemade produce in the chilled deli counter.

A delicatessen store with a good selection of beers, also seasonal beers. At my visit the Easter beer of brouwerij ’t IJ (PaasIJ) had just arrived. Some specialties I found: Mikkeler Jackie Brown, De Molen Hel & Verdoemenis, Saranac IPA and beers from local breweries (’t IJ en de Prael). Probably the best selection in this part of Asterdam.
