92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 greenclansman (49) Nicosia, Cyprus | May 18, 2013 one of the best places i have ever been. great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable stuff, big dutch beer list. expensive as expected but totaly worth it | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 fluffheady (46) Chicago, Illinois | April 23, 2013 This bar is 100% Dutch beer. And it’s amazing. We hung out here multiple times during our short stay. The bartenders we met were wonderful people. One of them remembered my partner from his visit a few months earlier. One gripe I had: slow service. I’m an impatient American, so sometimes I’m overly picky about service that is actually not slow (especially considering the culturally accepted speed of service is generally slower than in the States). However, waiting a half hour to be able to get the bartenders attention, finally being able to tell him what I want, and then after 10 more minutes of him not pouring the single beer I ordered, we left. This was on a relatively slow Monday night, but there was only one bartender and he couldn’t handle the crowd. It was an isolated incident, though, and normally the service is fine. I walked to Beer Temple, so I guess they got my money anyways. Oh well. They’re nice people. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Gerbeer (22) Vancouver, British Columbia | April 21, 2013 Very good selection of Dutch beers, including older bottles. Nice atmosphere. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 Brugmansia (256) Jylland, Denmark | April 19, 2013 Visited several times, and enjoy it every time :-). Great bar with a huge selection of dutch beers, both on tap and bottles. Cosy atmosphere and friendly, serviceminded staff that also know their things about beers. Nice and clean, beers are almost always in good condtion. For sure worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam and feel the need for dutch beers :-) | 92 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 20/20 soulhat (7) Kempston, England | March 4, 2013 great bar, great staff, great choice on tap & bottles loads of dutch I P As | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Glouglouburp (345) Montreal, Quebec | February 2, 2013 A place I visited in 2010 and in 2011. Very nice beer not far from the heart of Amsterdam yet removed enough from the center to quite relaxed compare to all beer places in the busiest parts of Amsterdam. A very good beer bar for the locals and a mandatory beer bar for the beer tourists. This is the only beer bar I found in Amsterdam that focuses exclusively (or almost exclusively) on Dutch beers. Impressive selection of over 25 taps. Some really hard to find tap-only beers. Looking at the tap list I had a big question mark hanging over my head but I was helped by a very knowledgeable staff who spoke good English. Interior atmosphere in between a typical british-style classy pub and the good old tavern. Lots of wood, warm and inviting. There is also some kind of patio in front, basically when weather is nice they put 3 or 4 tables next the canal on the other side of the street. Nice and relaxing to drink a beer there. More “classy” than most beer bars in town. I did not notice any food. I loved that place, it may not have the energy of many of the center-town beer bars but it is a nice change of pace if you want to relax a bit with some good beers. If you are a beer tourist and you want to drink Dutch beers in Dutch country, then ‘t Arendsnest should be at the very top of your list of places to visit. It is my second favorite Amsterdam beer place after In De Wilderman. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 jbird13 (3) Amsterdam, Netherlands | January 6, 2013 Great place. Tons of beers on tap. Nice small bar, often packed. Good cheeses and sausage too. Great place to go and try all the dutch beers. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 jfb (65) , Germany | December 29, 2012 Very small place full to the brim with people, we were very lucky to find two empty seats at the bar. The staff was coping admirably but it took a while to get their attention. The local-beer-oriented tap list is extensive, though the beers aren’t necessary all of good quality and not exactly hard to find elsewhere. Nevertheless there’s always bound to be something intersting on draught (didn’t check the fridge) to merit a visit here. | 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 barakihunter (15) Brisbane, Australia | December 26, 2012 Great bar - service was absolutely outstanding, people were kind and the place had great music and nice atmosphere. Selection was awesome!
CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 CamdenD (39) Madrid, Spain | December 18, 2012 Fantastic spot with great views of the canal. Focus on Dutch beers is very admirable. Inside can get a bit crowded but service can handle it. Large tap list with a few average selections but certainly some exciting ones! Nice prices. |
