| SHIG (139), Anchorage, Alaska | | April 18, 2012 Ate here my first night in Anchorage. Very nice selection of regular brews and five seasonal rotation taps. Service was quick and knowledgeable. The crowd was the problem, but I guess it’s because the food and beer was excellent. Worth the wait! | | hombrepalo (100), Chicago, Illinois | | April 9, 2012 Wow amazing pizza and great selection. Reminds me of Piece here in chicago, just bigger and a larger selection of beers. The pizza itself is pretty damn good. Porbably the second best pizza behind Piece. The place is large and loud. Sevice was good for what they had to deal with. Selection was good, around 16-20 taps, all available in sample sizes. Overall a cant miss place to go when in Anchorage. | | BrewDad (359), Olympia, Washington | | March 15, 2012 Pizza and beer. Is what you need they have it. Great line up of regular style ales. Terrific pizza and very family friendly. | | CheersMate (132), Fremont (Seattle), Washington | | February 22, 2012 I liked this place. It had great service, at least at the bar it did. The female bartender was extremely prompt; she was also quite attractive, to boot. I didn’t try the food, because I don’t really eat bar food during the week, but everything looked appetizing. They had a great selection of their own stuff. I’ve been into brewpubs where they barley have their normal lineup, but this place had lots of stuff on tap, e.g. the Darth Delirium was a nice surprise. The ambiance was decent. I’d just call it your average, somewhat open, brewpub feel. I’m giving value a perfect 10, because the woman behind the bar hooked me up with a free tasting, so I consider that great value; however, their prices weren’t bad, and had many different size options to choose from. You must stop here, when visiting Anchorage. | | troyc (147), Oklahoma | | October 12, 2011 Stopped by for a late lunch and to try some beers in early September. It was a weekday at 3pm, and this place was still packed. A good sign! The pizza was really good, and the beer was decent as well. Lots of beer on tap and the place had reasonable prices too. A good place to stop if you’re in town. | | nearbeer (144), Knoxville, Tennessee | | May 20, 2011 [ Updated September 28, 2011 ] The place has an open-area layout, is loud, and almost always has a waiting line. I usually hate that combination, but somehow it works at this place. Maybe because I was able to walk right in and sit at the bar. Excellent and knowledgeable service for me, but I could see how elsewhere it’s probably hit-or-miss, as at any pub. Had a nice chat with some locals, and seemed to be a mix of mostly locals and a few tourists; later when cruise season gets into full swing it looks like it might be a trap to avoid. Beer selection is very good; with heavy emphasis on regionals and a few house brews. Prices reasonable for AK and pizza is excellent. Some great live music at times. | | lancehenry (16), , | | May 13, 2011 Awesome gourmet pizza’s. Not a bad selection of beers. Place was pretty crowded when we were there, waited about 40 mins for a table. Worth it though. | | jsquire (47), St. Marys, Ohio | | January 18, 2011 If you like gourmet pizza and micro beers, this is a great place. They always have a large selection of their beers on tap of many styes. They also sell pizza to take home and bake off there. The beers are all solid and the pizza menu is huge. | | Phischy (57), California | | August 2, 2010 Typical Alaska ambiance and the place is always busy. Expect a wait, if not, go somewhere else. They do have a bar...
Which is where we ate after securing a beer or two. Family oriented, reminds me of the sucess of the Pizza Port chain in So Cal. Make it family friendly and you’ll do well.
Beer was good to above par, the Apple Ale was my favorite and the RaspBerry Wheat was also really good. Found the IPA to be a tad lacking but still good.
Pizza was awesome. Busy place all the time so expect that. | | thorongil2 (14), , Ontario | | June 23, 2010 [ Updated July 20, 2011 ] not bad at all - beers vary from great to indifferent but selection is always decent, food is ok |
