No longer brewing. Contacted this place before a visit to confirm they still brewed their own beer to be told that they do not after the previous owner took the kit when he left, it is now a restaurant. Ignore rating I’ve put as I had to put something for this to post.

Arresten Pub, literally The Prison pub and located in the former prison at Andenes, is a homey cafe and pub that consists of one main room and two prison cells. The brewery, Breiflabben Brygghus can be seen in a rather large room next to the pub. There was only one beer of their own, a blonde, when I visit the pub. However, I was told that they would have a Weizen, a Pale Ale and a summer special on very soon. The bottle selection was made up of about 12-15 different bottles, including one from Nøgne Ø, and some German, Belgian and English ones. Rather well composed menu of home-made food of which I had a delicious and fresh fish soup. Ok service. With a few more brews of their own Arresten Pub has got potentialities for the future. Andenes is a small fishing community located in the northwest of Norway only 20 minutes by plane form Tromsø. The main tourist attraction is the Andenes whale safari. (Visited 02.05.2012).
