| deyholla (90), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | May 17, 2012 A liquor store with a strong selection and homebrew supplies. Typical liquor store feel with not particularly knowledgable staff. Selection is strong but beers tend to sit on shelves for ever! I would hit other stores in A2. | | slimchill (82), Austin, Texas | | May 4, 2012 Really solid selection at good prices. No real staff interactions but nothing negative. Looked like an ok homebrew selection as well but I didn’t really investigate. | | DiarmaidBHK (307), Pennsylvania | | September 28, 2011 Located a scant 5 minutes from the Michigan campus you’d think they’d mention this place in their recruiting materials except for a couple of things. They have a nice range though it’s confined to a wall and the fridges on the back wall..The space is entirely too cramped. It’s impossible to see what’s on the bottom 2 shelves. They had a nice mix of local and international crafts but I have doubts as to how often the stock is rotated. One of the bottle of Scottish ale had so much crap floating in the bottom you would thought it was yogurt. | | Brigadier (127), Bloomington, Indiana | | September 21, 2011 The selection here is mostly along two walls. One contains a decent selection of local and regional offerings. The other are six packs. In both cases prices seemed fair with maybe a slight markup. The aisles are very narrow which could make moving around tough for more than one person. I did not get a chance to check out some of the other places in town so a direct comparison is hard but I would come back here if I was in the area despite the scarce parking. | | ontbeermaker (127), Ontario | | May 10, 2011 Pretty decent store, they had few other things then beer in there, They had a few coolers that mostly had beer in them, A few six packs but a lot of singles, Good variety of imports and michigan brews, with a lot of other micros. First place I have actually seen allglash in the store but we didnt get any but very good selection. Interesting store, would stop at again | | jrallen34 (207), Chicago, Illinois | | March 31, 2011 Stopped by here to get some supplies for brewing and came away pretty impressed for Ann Arbor. The beer selection was pretty big, good selection of international and locals. However, surprisingly they did not have Orval or Westmalle Triple which we were looking for as we were going to brew a clone of one of them, so as a staple surprised Orval wasn’t there. A really nice selection of Michigan locals from all the major breweries, and I really liked how they broke down the six packs and allowed you to buy singles of pretty much anything.
The ownere was there and said we could order from him anything that we wanted. It was hilarious though becuase I’m pretty sure he was wasted as he tried to tell me Cantillon was Italian and he couldn’t understand why no one had yet to purchase the Iris that had been sitting there for 4 years.
Overall, a good place to get beer supplies and decent brews. | | frylock (52), Buffalo, New York | | April 10, 2010 [ Updated April 25, 2010 ] Nice little beer store. Good selection of Michigan beers, primarily Bells, Founders, Kuhnhenn. I didn’t see any Shorts, which was a little disappointing but the rest of their selection was more than adequate. Tightly packed shelves, which also included a small but decent selection of meads and a random collection of homebrew supplies. I was able to find an 07 KRE which was nice, but very expensive...probably why its still on the shelf. | | AtlAggie (20), Atlanta, Georgia | | January 21, 2010 Great little beer store. Very respectable selection of singles, which is good when you’re visiting from out of state and just want a few bottles to carry back home. All the expected Michigan breweries. Found a few things here I didn’t see anywhere else (stopped in about 5 or 6 bottle shops total), like Kuhnhenn Fourth Dementia and some less-common Dark Horse stuff. Prices a little higher than the other shops I visited, but I didn’t mind since the selection was so much better, plus gotta figure the rent is higher in downtown Ann Arbor. Definitely worth a stop, stocks home brew supplies too. | | Blaze312 (10), Ann Arbor, Michigan | | March 27, 2009 The Beer Depot has a very nice selection. A little bit of everything is offered here. They had tons of singles, much more then 4/6 packs, although those are present as well. The prices are reasonable in comparison to some other locations in town. Don’t let the outside fool you. They pack way more beer in this place then you would think. I will be making a stop at this place often. | | trayns (23), Beverly Hills, Michigan | | February 18, 2009 Very wide selection of bombers, and single bottles. A lot of those in the fridge too. Very competitive selection, a little bit pricey. A limited selection of homebrew supplies. Overall, second best beer selection behind Bello Vino (closed) , so this is the new king of ann arbor, by default. |
