The least known of Antwerp’s specialised beerbars. It shouldn’t be.Eric and Shanti are a couple of the best informed bartenders in Belgium. The are most certainly the nicest bar owners in Antwerp. The only reason Shammy’s has not got the renown of, say, Het Patersvaetje (they dwarf that pub, both in knowledge and in number of beers), is the location. Shammy’s is in a part of the city called ’Het Valaar’, a rather dull neighbourhood. To get there with public transport, take tram 2, direction Hoboken, get of at VII Olympiadelaan. You can also take bus nr 22, which actually stops at the door of the pub, but rides less frequently.
