| adamjackson (22), Canaan, New Hampshire | | January 31, 2012 We discovered Whole Foods after a few BA buddies recommended it. I’m in town from New hampshire and wanted to get some beers that are impossible to find up north.
.
After grabbing 4-5 bottles of Founders Breakfast Stout, Lee found us and started helping out.
Lee is the "beer guy" at Whole Foods but I prefer to call these men of both knowledge, power and lovers of beer, the "beer curators" at stores like this.
Lee spent 40 minutes with us helping out and drew my attention to a lot of fantastic beers and even let me take some individual bottles from the 6-packs. Very awesome.
This place has a great selection...you can grab lunch while you’re here and they do growler fill-ups. Very very awesome!
| | BeerandBlues2 (358), Lone Tree, Colorado | | January 9, 2011 Just another Whole Foods, and a rather small selection compared to others I have visited. The selection is diverse though, and mostly micros. | | j12601 (214), Poughkeepsie, New York | | December 5, 2009 While the selection may not be as big as I would have hoped, there was still a nice assortment of sixes, especially for a grocery store chain, with a slight emphasis on locals. I doubt most people are coming here solely for the beer, and were I not trying to hit every beer store in Arlington, in an attempt (which is proving unsuccessful) to bring back a bunch of locals, I wouldn’t have stopped here. Good grocery store though, like all other Whole Foods. | | jcos (25), Maryland | | August 18, 2009 [ Updated December 2, 2009 ] Good selection of beers with seasonal selections. Prices on beers are not the best, but that’s to be expected. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | May 5, 2009 Very small Whole Foods location. City location so parking can be tricky. I had no problem at 3ish on a weekday. Nice beer selection, with a few harder to find items and a nice representation of local beers. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. | Fruitfly (1), , Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | April 13, 2009 The beer selection is a nice surprise for a large market. They have a decent variety of micros including Stone, Bells, Dogfishhead, etc. Also some typical but good imports: orval, la chouffe, s. smith’s... Also seemingly random but good limited releases. They apparently celler some beers, as I got a year old and rare RIS. Prices are decent (at least compared to Philly). A nice find that is a great one stop for decent food and nice brew. | | Bierkrug (214), Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Germany | | September 13, 2008 [ Updated September 22, 2009 ] They have a lot of good beers. Hard to find ones as well. | | performula (28), Heart of the Rockies, Colorado | | September 21, 2007 This place carries Stone for the east coasters! IPA, Ruination, EPIC, Arrogant Bastard, etc. I was shocked. | Chris9b9 (2), Alexandria, Virginia does not count - explanation | | July 16, 2007 Decent selection for a neighborhood (organic) supermarket. Found a cold 500ml bottle of Zywiec Porter here today. | | 3fourths (950), Boulder, Colorado | | March 30, 2007 This place had the most hotties per square inch I have ever seen. Crazy. Beer selection decent for the area. High quality but common Belgian bottles, a bit of a US and regional micro selection. Saw some Bluegrass BC, Legend and Lakefront along with more common stuff like Bear Republic and Stone. Few singles, mostly just 6-packs and bombers/750s. |
