January 25, 2012 went there on a friday afternoon for lunch i didnt drink but my lunch partner had a beer. decent draft selection mostly local which is what i like. i had a tossed salad regular and 1/2 of a blt. the sandwich was good but wish there was more bacon on it. the salad was like never ending kept eating and eating. their version of honey mustard is pretty darn good. the motif is hippyish...liked the place it was cool. the other foods that i seen were decent looking and plenty for the veg heads...overall good experience. |

December 20, 2011 This has to be the coolest Mellow Mushroom I’ve ever visited. It’s a wide open design with a large bar on the left hand side of the restaurant. They have about 30 regular taps and 15-20 regional seasonals written on a massive chalk board that runs the length of the bar along the ceiling. As with most Mellow Mushrooms the pizza is ghastly. they either overcook and burn the shit out of the crust or oversauce and it ends up soggy. If they’re really off their game you’ll get both on the same pie. This is also topped with an insane amount of Parmesan cheese. But beer is the key here and they have one of the best taprooms in the state. |

September 8, 2011 A regular drinking hole in my hometown of the Noog, I decided to eat here for lunch. Mellow’s always have a kind of 60s psychodelic look to them. The service was good and the food is good as usual. They do some nice pizzas! They had a good tap selection and decent prices on the taps. I wouldn’t call it a must visit but nothing wrong with having a few there. |

July 21, 2010 We stopped in here for a quick pint between other beer bars in the area, so I didn’t order any food, but I’ve been to other Mellow Mushrooms many times before for food and drinks. This one certainly has the biggest beer list I’ve seen at any of their locations, and with a great focus on locals and seasonals, it’s a really interesting list. The service wasn’t very good, but it’s hard to judge on such a quick trip. |

June 22, 2010 The Mellow Mushroom in Asheville has some of the more interesting outdoor decorations I have seen of any restaurant. Cool downtown location just a few steps from Bruisin’ Ales. Service was excellent. Food was excellent as are all Mellow Mushroom’s (in my opinion at least). The beer selection is the most extensive I have seen of any other Mushroom location. A great place to check out some of the local brews. |

November 30, 2009 Stopped by on the Friday after Thanksgiving and it was PACKED. Luckily we were able to find a place at the bar and decided to have a quick lunch there. The bartenders were friendly and fairly quick, given the crowd. Selection was pretty typical for Asheville. I liked it, it seemed a bit cooler than most Mellow Mushrooms I’ve been in. |

July 19, 2009 The mellow mushroom is a great pizza place with a wonderful selection of local brew on tap, including some of the highland brew and French Broad. It’s located in downtown Asheville’s historical district right on the hill. A walk down the road will give you a beautiful view of the blueridge mountains. It’s quite a trip checking this place out, aside from the psychadelic colours and art that are all over the inside of the restauraunt as well as the outside, i can’t say it enough- the pizza is great! |
