stumbled to this place after grabbing a few beers at asheville brewing - and a few at jack of the wood - and a few more at thirsty monk... decent selection, but I was mainly looking for local fair. remember that I got a giant champagne-sized bottle of a sweetwater, a french broad and a stone I’d never come across. the owners didn’t know much about it and the prices were I little high. location is great though.

Decent bottle selection covering a wide array of styles, in addition to a lot of wine a a few meads. If you’re in that area of town, it’s a decent stop, but it can’t hold a candle to Bruisin’ Ales’ selection. A few bottles seemed a tad cheaper than other stores in town.

Nice little shop located in the downtown area about a block from Thirsty Monk. On the expensive side, but not terribly expensive and they have a few things you won’t find elsewhere. Average sized selection with a few nice selections here and there, including a fairly spirited selection of English and other foreign beers, which presents a contrast from a lot of the other bottle shops in town. The people there were nice. Not one of the first places to visit, but worth a stop if you have the time.

Nothing overly attractive about the beer selection here, (though I did like the way the bottles were displayed). The draw for this place: location, location, location. Thirsty Monk, Jack of the Wood, and ABC are all within a block or two. Staff seemed like they were trying to just get me out of the place, but I was there first thing in the morning. And the beers were a bit on the pricey side. But worth a peek if you’re already in the area.

Not much for the beer person, but a decent selection if you can’t get up the road to Bruisin Ales. Good selection of wines, with tasting on weekends. I did find a Flying Dog Collaborator for a much better price than any where in town, too.

Probably more of a wine shop, hence the name. Good selection of various bottles. One or two things you may not be able to find elsewhere. Never asked anyone for any kind of service and never had anyone offer it so I can’t say much in that area. Singles and six packs and a pretty big glass selection. Might as well stop by if you’re in the area.

I stopped in here to buy a couple of extra things when I was in Asheville... nothing that they don’t have a Bruisin’ Ales, and the staff seemed like they were ready for me to leave... but I think they were just opening up in the morning when I stopped in.

Focus here is definitely on wine, but some really nice Belgians (Cantillon, De Dolle, Achel, Affligem, etc.) and others from all over (Mahr’s, Spezial, Schlenkerla, etc.). Too much Rogue, though. Definitely not the best in town, but worth a stop for the occasional rarity. Some pretty good Sake, too.

This place has a small amount of hard to find stuff in the area, for that I check it out just to make sure I’m not missing anything else. Otherwise, I defintely go to Asheville Wine Market which is just a short walk away and is considerably cheaper and also has more singles available.
