December 20, 2011 The very definition of a neighborhood bar. It seemed like everyone knew each other. The massive bar takes up something like half the space of the room. They have 20-22 taps most of them craft, half of them from North Carolina. There wasn’t anything outrageously rare or anything. The food was decent, typical pub grub. They also a lot of live music as well as a side room with pool tables. If I lived in West Asheville I would probably hang out here some. |

July 5, 2011 Funky, off the beaten path place (not that off the path for beer lovers though, as Hops and Vines is right down the street) with a small but wonderful rotating selection. Not that 22 taps (when all are functional) is skimpy. They keep some crazy bottles on hand too. In two trips there I have been incredibly pleased with the draft list, which is blissfully local for the most part. This is a true community pub that brings in a wide variety of people. Good music depending on the bartender in charge, good food too. Service varies but never bad. Casual doesn’t begin to describe it, have fun! |

June 9, 2011 A nice neighborhood dive. It was the first decent place to open the this transitioning neighborhood and remains a local staple. Good wings and other pub fare, and decent beer, though they lack the wider selection of some Asheville bars. You’ll find enough to keep you happy, though. |

April 11, 2011 [ Updated November 23, 2011 ] I liked this place. Kind of a hole in the wall, with a long bar on one side and booths on the other, and pool tables in another room. The bartender greeted us when we came in and was friendly and helpful. the food - Bison sandwiches with horseradish sauce was really good. The selection was small, but well chosen (except for the ever present PBR tap. I’m getting really sick of this cliche, to be honest). I hope we can make this on our regular Asheville stops. |

August 27, 2007 Killer wings and a darn good beer selection. Smoke free and in the hippest part of Asheville. A locals scence for sure, but a nice place to kick back, sip some cold ones, eat a bit and catch some live music. The real deal. |

December 24, 2006 I love the ambiance here, but that’s the main selling point. The beer selection is decent but not unique and the place is a little bit out of the way. |

June 3, 2006 Westville Pub is a really fun community place in west asheville. The beer selection is definitely one of the best in town, there is typically something happening music-wise there every night. The food is pretty good. (They only just recently got a deep frier, you’ll find some healthier food options on the menu). This is THE place to meet in burgeoning west side of town. |

May 14, 2006 [ Updated July 20, 2006 ] Very cozy environment with an adequate beer selection. It’s about par for the Asheville pub scene, which is pretty good all around. It’s just hard to justify a trip to Westville because it’s not near anything else of much interest, whereas the downtown area has several bars which are at least equal to this one all within walking distance of each other. I did not get to sample any food here. |
