| BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | November 18, 2011 [ Updated November 19, 2011 ] Visited on Nov. 18, 2011. Awesome atmosphere - very cozy. Only had 5 beers on this day and the service was just okay, but a good experience nonetheless. I had the chicken enchiladas, which were terrific. | | bookman10 (13), Osseo, Minnesota | | October 27, 2008 Excellent food and nice variety of beers on tap. The ambiance was very cozy. We were in a snug booth with its own little light. Tried the Nut Brown Ale, their signature beer, and was very pleased with it. Also gave the Coffee Mint Stout a try. It was interesting, but the mint flavor was pretty overpowering. We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back next time we’re in the area. | | BDR (61), Roseville, Minnesota | | June 3, 2007 good service in a very nice looking bar. Food smelled good but didn’t try any. | | muzzlehatch (255), Burlington, Vermont | | August 16, 2006 Beautiful place right downtown, nice use of wood, dark green and brown furniture, huge comfy booths for big Wisconsin bellies; 2 nice looking bars and a cool balcony....food was good, a black bean burger and outstanding waffle fries, fairly typical menu....samples on the small size, and most not that good though nothing was terrible. A worthwhile stop but I can’t imagine going out of my way for it unless perhaps on the way to White Winter Winery in Iron River, or up to Bayfield. | | auerbrau (232), Peace Dale, Rhode Island | | March 27, 2006 Decent place. I wish they rotated their beers more often and had a little bit bigger selection. But they achieve what they set out to do. Food is pretty decent and prices are good. Cool building. | | jewedekind (36), Middleton , Wisconsin | | June 21, 2005 [ Updated January 26, 2007 ] Is a nice setting, esp considering where you are. I really don’t go for the nautical theme too much. Bar is very nice, bartender was hungover...always a good sign. Friendly place. Food is fine. Beers are above average, with some originality. The old train station location was much better..but this is a great place to visit. | | badgerben (80), Blaine, Minnesota | | January 15, 2005 Walking into this place was like strolling into a lodge in the middle of the Northwoods. Beautiful wood and dark green motif. The staff seems to have a clue about the beer they serve, which tends to be 4 regulars and 2 seasonals. I had the beer cheese soup which was probably the best I have ever had. It’s probably not worth the trek if you’re only in Duluth, but if you’re crossing Northern Wisconsin anyway, be sure to stop. |
