The service is fine and the stuff is helpful. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 errorcode99 (1) , | January 13, 2013 I live nearby so overall i’m happy i found this place! The owner’s are cool too. In times of crisis, trying to make a niche market happy is definitely not easy so i have to give them credit for that. | 58 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 humlelala (27) , Denmark | September 15, 2012 I visited here once during my summer holidays in Greece and my experience was quite similar to Scopey’s. The bottle shop is relatively easy to access from the Doukissis Plakentias metro station and it seemed like there was also a regional train station as well as a highway intersection nearby. We e-mailed in advance in a vain attempt to have beer shipped to our hotel but unfortunately this didn’t work out. As the place had just opened after summer holidays (on August 28th) there wasn’t much Greek microbrew available - only Septem and Zeos. I managed to buy around 10 bottles for 25€. Decent value for money in my opinion. I didn’t check the prices on the foreign beers though so YMMV. If I lived in Athens I would be happy to have available to me the selection of this shop. Clerk took his time to advise me and was generally attentive. I would definitely pay a visit again if returning to Athens but would probably write or call ahead to ask about the availablility of Greek microbrew. Probably better to visit out of season. | 62 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 13/20 Hogfather (13) Thessaloniki, Greece | May 25, 2012 Good selection of beers, expensive prices. Service was good but not very knowledgeable, at least the guy I spoke to. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 10/20 HELL666 (15) Athens, Greece | February 20, 2012 Big selection from European beers and some from US. Quite expensive. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Scopey (271) Croydon, England | November 3, 2011 Modest-sized beer store located 5 minutes walk (along a motorway) from the Doukissis Plakentias metro station. This is THE place to get Greek micros in Athens. Wide beer selection, which is mostly German and Belgian, but also includes some American and British brews. There are a large amount of fridges, so you can drink a beer at the tables out the front. Please remember to ask for the Unpasteurized Zeos Pils. Contradictory to other ratings I found the place to be pretty good value, for Greek brews at least. A must visit when in Athens on the search for beer. | 52 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 Beershine (595) The Sunshine State, Florida | May 3, 2011 Small shop, sadly quite warm inside, and fairly bright so try to stick to the bottles that are in the fridge if possible. They have a decent selection of international beers, but nothing too exciting. There are some notable blank spots in the inventory, but it’s Athens so the selection is pretty good considering. I didn’t think the prices were that bad except on certain bottles: 9€ for Beer Geek Breakfast. Otherwise the prices are predictable.
Disappointed with the lack of representation of some of the local micros like Craft, although they did have one beer from the Corfu micro and a few other Greek micros that are not that easy to find in central Athens.
They have some nice glassware. They also have a small bar inside the shop with a keg but nothing was on at the time :( | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 11/20 mixos (53) Thessaloniki, Greece | January 11, 2010 Very big variety of bottles, but unfortunately very very expensive. Reccomended only after you have won the lottery. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 15/20 fugitive (142) Athens, Greece | September 13, 2009| Updated January 30, 2010 At last a good Beer Store in Athens. Nice place with a very good selection. Mostly beers from Belgium and Germany with a selection that expands. Big bottles and gift packs. |
