| Terminus (233), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | April 7, 2012 A very good bottle store in southwest Austin-has all your Jester king bottles that are avalible as well as some other rare brews (i got the ever elusive Rayon Vert from Green Flash while here). Staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions. | | suprchunk (60), Heinsberg, Germany | | May 16, 2010 Pretty big place. You have to look around to find the gems that are hidden. Most likely they don’t know what they got, since it seems they just take the shotgun approach to buying to stock the shelves - whatever their distributor can get they’ll take. Much more BMC beers than I like to see, but it is a liquor store after all. Decent selection of food stuff, and cigars. | | jumpjet2k (15), Houston, Texas | | November 16, 2009 Biggest liquor store I’ve been into - by volume, at least. This is a former Academy Sports store converted into a Spec’s. All of the beer guys are very knowledgeable and very friendly, and this Spec’s tends to get the greatest amounts of new or special beers that come into Austin. Some of the sales are very nice bargains, and at any given time they probably have the most beer of any store in town. It’s aways a pleasure to shop at Spec’s Brodie. A 5% discount is given if you pay cash or debit, since the store has to pay a fee for credit card purchases - a nice policy that I’d like to see some other stores implement. | | hopeye101 (11), Draughthouse, Texas | | February 13, 2009 This is a beer superstore with an outstanding beer selection.
- The "good" beers are not in the fridge , they are on shelves next to the refrigerated beers.
- The deli counter is excellent. I’ve had several tasty sandwiches there.
- I also like the cheese selection. I picked up some Chimay cheese there that was excellent with our BA beer tasting night.
- They have this weird cash policy that they charge you extra if you use a credit card, so use a debit card here. | | AmEricanbrew (78), roam, Louisiana | | January 13, 2009 A huge store with a good beer selection, and squeeky clean floors. So what did i buy here last week ? a sixer of SN Celebration; old habits die hard i guess. This Specs has a nice specialty food and deli section right next to the beer dept. Worth a stop. | | fly (203), austin, Tejas, Alabama | | August 11, 2008 If you’ve seen one Specs. you pretty much seen them all. Good selection. Employees vary, some good, some great, some should be left in sun to dry.
and if this is read by Mike (acrdz) - can the Places w/ multiple locations be consolidated? |
