BgThang (9), Texas does not count - explanation | | May 7, 2012 A lot of people love this place. Maybe because of the localism. When I first went here is was an actual corner store. now it’s transformed in to more of a place to grab a bite, some great craft beer, catch a live band, and have some good draught beer. THe prices in the past have been on the higer side. Lately these have changed to be more reasonable. Overall worth checking out. | | jmagnus87 (33), Carbondale, Illinois | | May 1, 2012 Stopped in here on Easter Sunday. Pretty sure this was the only place open in the entire state of Texas that day. Great service. Talked with on of their beer guys for about 20 minutes about what I was looking for and they had almost every thing I wanted. Got a bunch of Jester King, Saint Arnold, and Real Ale. Also got a Maui Brewing beer to knock out Hawaii, a Wasatch Polygamy Porter to take care of Utah, Sierra Blanca Roswell Alien Amber to knock out New Mexico and loads of other goodies. I can’t compare with other places in Texas, but most of the prices were lower than they are locally around me. Overall, perfect. I can’t wait to go back. | | SudsMcDuff (112), .....Manchester United.........., Texas | | April 7, 2012 I loved this place!! .. the bartenders were cool .. the food was delicious and spicy .. the amount of locals on tap was A+++ .. . some singles for sale .. a great place and my new favourite stop in ATX!!! | | nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | April 6, 2012 Literally whipped into here for last call while in the area. Impressive selection on tap and in the fridge. I wish the kitchen were open, because the menu looked great. Hip space that I will definitely check out again. | | drowland (116), Tallahassee, Florida | | February 28, 2012 Stopped in during RBWG 2012. This is a crazy place! Food, taps/bar, growlers, and a bottle shop? Talk about one stop shopping!
Our bartenders were prompt and friendly and a few of them really know the beers.
A huge selection of beers including a ton of locals.
One of the great things about this place is they’ll let you sample brews before you try them and they’ll also pour half-pours so you can try many beers without spending a ton or getting hammered.
Overall, I’d say this is a most definite stop if you’re in the Austin area. They really have about everything you’d need! | | Sledutah (151), Utah | | February 27, 2012 A nice stop during RBWG. A big tap list of local beers and other great stuff. Lots of bottles to choose to go. A nice stop worth visiting. | | DarkBeerChick (15), San Antonio, Texas | | February 25, 2012 Great place to stop and grab a growler. Very friendly. Awesome selection. | | Itzjerm (30), Taft, Tennessee | | January 5, 2012 This is an interesting Place. I mean you can get a frozen pizza while you pick up a bottle of beer to take home... and then drink a brew there. The prices were high though, and the folks behind the bar not the most friendly.... "we’re not perfect, don’t ask about whats on the board" | ATexJay (1), Austin, Texas does not count - explanation | | September 22, 2011 Family-owned business that feels like a comfortabe neighborhood bar / restaurant / beer store but with the skills and selection to be a city-wide destination. Constanty evolving...from a Dew & Fritos convenience store, to the place with the best deal on Celis White, to the current incarnation, to an aspiring brewpub. An Austin original worth checking out. | | ericandersnavy (35), Denton, Texas | | July 10, 2011 I stopped by here today to see what it is all about. Awesome tap menu and the usual suspects lined up in bottles. Since it was sunday and I showed up before noon I wasn’t able to purchase any beer to go. I was able to sample a couple of beers, because I didn’t feel like drinking a whole pint before driving back to d/fw. i can’t comment on value because I didn’t buy anything. Overall I will have to stop in again. |
