(Visited 10/2008): Country Club Liquors is located in a strip mall parking lot on Columbus Street not too far from 178. There is plenty of parking all around the building. The interior is a hybrid convenience store and deli. The beer is located mostly in coolers along the back wall, plus some on shelves at room temperature. They have a small collection of glassware near the register as well. Country Club has a pretty good selection of California beers, a lot of them in bombers. Brewers like Mammoth, Stone, Lengthwise, Firestone and others are represented. Some imports are available as well. Service here was more on the convenience store side. The attendant was friendly but didn’t really ask how we were doing or if he could help with anything. This place is not listed as a restaurant but some of the deli items looked pretty good. Overall this is probably the best place I have seen in Bakersfield for craft beer. While not a huge selection there is bound to be something to interest a beer lover.

Selection is better than most liquor stores in Bako. Their prices are to high on most of their beers. Employees have always been nice and seem to know about craft beer. I have not tried the food here, but have hear its good.

The managers are very helpful with finding your taste and the beer you would like. These people love what theey do. I always leave there happy and excited about my lated find. They have old standards as well ad ne cutting edge for those adventurous.

This was the last place on my list for Bakersfield. Hands down the best place in town. I talked to a guy named Ryan and he was like a dictionary when it came to the differnet kinds of beer and how their made. I will come back...too bad i live in fresno.

Very good selection of micros, macros and imported beer. This place is packed with good stuff including a wide variety of high end liquor and wine. We also tried a tri-tip sandwich and potato salad from their deli which was very delicious along with a mixed 6 pack of micros. I spoke with the owner of the store and it is a true family owned enterprise with over over 100 yrs of combined experience in the business. Also to note is their ability to special order a plethora of other beers by the case or keg! Next time I am in Bako, this a required stop on the beer route.

Favorite place for brews in Bako. They make an effort to stock good stuff. I make an effort to visit when I can.

My bud odeed took me here to grab some more Cali brews. Good sandwich and a nice selection of beer.

Great hard-to-find and unique beer selections (as well as hard liquor). Although I didn’t get a chance to try their deli food it looked delicious and I’ve heard so many good things about this place. They also had very knowledgeable and pleasant staff... will be going here VERY often! :)

The people that work there are very friendly. Nice selection of beer and a pretty good deli.
