63 reviews for Max’s on Broadway
| HoppityHop (45), New Jersey | | November 9, 2009 Unfortunately, the average patron is usually (drinking Miller Lite and) more concerned with the ball game than the tap selection, but whatever.........this is a great place, especially when the tunes are rockin’ and football is out of season! Awesome selection, great specials, and the best Friday happy hour on the planet! I am ALWAYS impressed by the selection. | | MikeF (95), Cleveland, Ohio | | October 16, 2009 This is the best beer bar on the East coast. A huge number of very very high quality drafts. There is a regional bias, but thats fine when you have dogfishead, clipper city, flying dog, victory, and brooklyn in your backyard. On the other hand there are a good number of superb import brews as well as far off micros. food is also very good and reasonably priced. everyone behind the bar really knows beer. The draft prices are very reasonable. Bottle list is huge, but a little pricier. They actually had 120minute IPA on ’draft while I was there -- havn’t see this anywhere else. If you are anywhere near baltimore stop here. The surrounding area is nice and very historic with numerous nearby restaurants and other pubs. | | savnac (57), Palmer, Alaska | | October 5, 2009 Went here on a weekday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. It was the day before a big Octoberfest party and they were changing out all the taps to German beer. That kind of sucked because they have 80 taps, but were down to about 15. It was ok though, because the 15 beers available were really good. The bartender really made the place, probably the funniest and most friendly bartender I’ve ever met. I will definitely come back to this place next time I’m in Baltimore. | | Bonster (26), Jersey Shore, New Jersey | | September 30, 2009 Lots of taps, great selection of bottles. Really good beer bar that isn’t overpriced. I was impressed. | | Pivoyager (36), Gaithersburg, Maryland | | September 17, 2009 In my opinion, one of the best beer bars around - or in the Washington DC Metro Area. Always great taps, which rotate frequently. Excellent service. Of course, it does have a sports bar ambience, one that attracts fratboys and douchebags on weekends. But, you take the good with the bad. IMax’s makes for one part of any Fells Point Pubcrawl. | | yobdoog (92), Woodridge NY, New York | | August 17, 2009 Finally got to Max’s for the Rare Beer Night and it was great. Place is rather large with a very long bar, lots of tables, even more tables out of the way of the bar so no one bumps into you. Very knowledgeable staff and the lineup of beers was just ridiculous. | | WeeHeavySD (100), San Diego (Hillcrest), California | | July 30, 2009 I’m pretty impressed and it usually takes a lot for me to be impressed by a place, my friend Pete from HS has been raving about Max’s to me for years, and so I thought I’d check it out, met up with him after my girlfriend and I spent the day in Baltimore. Great draft list, really pretty stellar, solid bottle list though not super up to date. Cool food, vegan option for my gal and a tatter bowl for me that almost killed me but I would have died a happy man. This gets 2 big thumbs up in my book! | | MtStateBeer (21), Hurricane, West Virginia | | July 16, 2009 Visited a few weekends ago. I was in Baltimore for the weekend and had to visit this place on both Friday and Saturday nights. What a great selection and very eclectic. They had a good variety on their 80 tap head and too many bottles to even make a decision. Service was good both nights. Didn’t try the food. If I recall, the prices weren’t all that bad either.
The second night my buddy won a Leine’s boat and case of beer which was just the icing on the cake.
I will definitely visit again next time in Baltimore. | | lithy (93), Knoxville, Tennessee | | June 30, 2009 Stopped in just to grab some bottles to share with family and spent far too long in here. Lots of taps, tons of bottles. Prices were fair. | | michael-pollack (71), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | | June 6, 2009 Nice ambiance. Full of real beer drinkers. Service was just ok but friendly. Great selection on draft and in bottles. Seemed cheap for everything I had. Sure to be my first stop in Baltimore from now on. |
