In extremly nice surroundings. What a view!! Rauch lager in ceramic mugs. A favorite!

Visited March 2012. Unfortunately I was here when it was dark so I can’t comment on the view. The bar is very nice though and the draught Spezial Rauchbier was really excellent.

After a day in Bamberg with a wisit to 7 other beer places we got to the best view of Bamberg. The green field that slopes down to the center of Bamberg and you could se most of the center of Bamberg is really nice. The service is like in most German beer gartens you order from a hole in the house and after a few seconds you get your beer and after another couple of minutes the food is ready. Beer sausidge and saurekraute is always a safe bet here.

Pub/restaurant with Keller (=Biergarten) on the Stephansberg hill, overlooking the city. One of the best views you’ll find. The beers from Spezial and good traditional fare at decent prices. It is a bit of a walk, so you really deserve a beer (or more). The garden is big, but you can also sit inside, so it is also open if the weather is not so good.

another pub (brewpub) you must visit in bamberg. very crowded, only three beer on tap, but the place, the beers and the atmosphere are great.

After the walk uphill to Stephansberg you deserve a "bierkrug" or two! This is a large "Keller", open all year round because you can sit inside. But, the best place to enjoy a Spezial Rauchbier Lager is outside in the garden overlooking Bamberg. Nice view! (Visited July 1st 2011)

lookout for spezial keller signs and follow those. leads to a long walk up a winding hill. view overlooking town of bamberg. near wilderose. might as well hit up hear and wildrose for some beers.

Wasn’t easy to find, but was well worth searching for. Their smoked beers are second only to those of Schlenkerla. The place offers great views above Bamberg.

Got a heat stroke walking up to this beer garden, but it was wroth it! Great view and very good beer. Only had their own type of beer, but it was decent and served ice cold in ceramic steins. Friendly staff as well.

Great view and nice garden, though the smell of garbage was wafting through at times when the wind was right (or wrong). Limited beer selection, but they are great. I vastly prefer the brewery, but it was closed for summer vacation the last two times I visited.
