A nice, small and intimate neighbourhood pub with mostly younger guests. The beer from Drei Kronen, Strassgiech was not Zoigl, but Gänstaller Bräu Kellerbier. Be aware: you can not talk loudly in the seating area outside on the pavement. You are drinking in a residential area and people might be sleeping. We were eight noisy Norwegians.... Nice pub. Zoigl beer from Drei kronen. Great! Sat on the pavement outside and enjoyed the pitoresque surroundings.

Visited March 2012. Only managed one visit in my two weeks in Bamberg. Seems like a nice local, if small. There’s a wooden keg set up but it’s a fake. They had draught Drei Kronen (Schlesslitz) Lager as a guest beer and I had that: very good. Also Keesmann Herren Pils and Josephi Bock was available on draught. I had already eaten but the landlady said I should come back some other time because they were proud of their food. Maybe on my next visit to Bamberg.

First stop on the way up to Stephansberg right after Klosterbrau. Very friendly service. Waitor spoke English. They showed Spain-Paraguay on a large screen in the back. Had a Zehender weissen and a Keesmann Sternla Lager from tap. Only 8-10 beers avaliable. I really enjoyed my visit here though.

Cool, homey bar at the base of the hill leading up to the kellers. Had several Mahr’s Brau U Biers here and some others that I cannot recall. Service was cheery and attentive. Good, animated younger crowd late. Recommended!

Good place to find a country beer or two. The menu is okay - Fred Waltman likes the blaue zipfel but we haven’t seen it there yet. Too bad. It’s a pretty relaxed place for a pint and the country beer is usually in good shape. Service is fine.

Very nice place with a modern but chilled out atmosphere. Loud (in a good way) on weekends, good vibes and happy times. Menu is mainly snacks but a good variety of them and good portions. Late night place, and one of the only places in town to drink good beer late at night too.

A tiny pub on the way up Stephansberg, which served Brauerei zur Sonne’s Lagerbier when I was there, as well as Keesman’s ubiquitous Herren Pils. They purportedly serve Brauerei Eichhorn’s (Dörfleins) Kellerbier sometimes as well. Mönchsambacher Weizenbier was there in bottles for weizen lovers. Atmosphere is very cozy since the place is relatively small, but gets loud and boisterous on weekend evenings because it gets packed rather quickly. Apart from the one country beer served at a time, this place is a convenient visit because you will encounter it when you go up to Spezial Keller, Mahr’s Keller, and Wilde Rose Keller. It also closes later than most bars in town, so you can finish your evening here after the aforementioned kellers have closed (usually at 11pm).
