| SamGamgee (182), down the whirlpool, California | | February 18, 2012 Had a great time hanging out on the patio here after visiting the Deschutes pub. Great place to come on a sunny afternoon. I’m a fan of their lagers--love to see a brewpub doing that. A nice change from Deschutes. Not as big of a fan of their IPA but the overall spread of beers is good. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | August 10, 2011 Nice brewpub with a great location right in town. We were here for the ½ price appetizer day, which ever day that is. Fairly clean with a typical brewpub décor. Selection was nice, good array of beer to chose from and some limited bottles to go (got an Outback X and Hop Head). Food was great, especially for the ½ deal. Once again value was great and even good if things we’re ½ price. Overall a great place to have some food and beer in Bend, definitely worth a visit. | | JoeinEscazú (200), San Jose, Costa Rica | | July 8, 2011 In almost any other town of Bend’s size, this place would be a treasure. It still is, but there are many other beery treasures in Bend. Overall it’s a key link in one of America’s best pub crawls. I found the beers to walk that fine line between character and drinkability. Looks and feels like a locals’ bar, which IMO is a good thing. Nice-looking deck out back. | | Beerlando (70), Orlando, Florida | | April 11, 2011 [ Updated April 14, 2011 ] Cool looking brewpub located right on the Deschutes River. There was outdoor seating, which we wanted, but it was all taken. Inside, we ate in the bar area. Food was simple....typical Brewpub fare, which is to say burgers, sandwiches, and the like. Nothing fancy, but good quality nonetheless. The wait staff was prompt and cordial. I personally found the beers to be quite mundane. I went with their house IPA and their GABF winning Old Ale, neither of which I was impressed with. Still, not a bad little spot to stop in and grab a quick meal....especially if you can get a seat on the back porch overlooking the river. | | mattbrews (13), Beaverton, Oregon | | October 11, 2010 Great food, and even better beer. Normal brewpub environment, with the brewery above the restaurant. GABF winning beer! | | bjakk (22), Skagafjordur, Iceland | | August 30, 2010 Went there on my Oregon trip. Tasted most of their beers, really nice selection and good beer. Nice IPA | MuluAle (5), , Colorado does not count - explanation | | August 1, 2009 Location is great near the water. Beers are pretty good. The food is worth it. | | 19Ei8hty (63), Washington | | July 22, 2008 Really well laid out brewpub with a pleasant atmosphere and nice staff. Pizza was not as described, looked like it came out of a box. Other meals looked pretty decent although a tad costly for sammies. Great selection of regular taps and 3 seasonals, all combined to make a great value on the sampler platter. I would give this place the nod over Deschutes based on a better brew selection and friendlier staff. Fun place. | | WeeHeavySD (111), San Diego (Hillcrest), California | | February 12, 2008 Went there on New Years Day 2008 with Bikesandbeer. This was a cool little brewpub, the beer is decent not stellar but worth going to. The food was quite good and the prices on the food was excellent in relation to quality and portion size. | | Crit (132), New Westminster, British Columbia | | June 17, 2007 [ Updated September 14, 2008 ] Somewhat limited selection when I was there. Service was fine, food was quite good.
