| Benzai (47), Oirschot, Netherlands | | April 15, 2012 Visited quite a few times, apparently never wrote a place review. Fresh La Trappe beers on draught at ’t Proeflokaal as well as their Oak-Aged Quadrupels from bottle. Enough room to sit both inside and outside. Nice staff. | | Borresteijn (97), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | April 15, 2012 Walked all the way down this place from Tilburg. Nice, modern and quiet Proeflokaal, lots of seatings outside made of high quality heavy wood. Food was good, had a nice soup and sandwich here that went really well with the Quad batch #9. A bit pricey, especially the Oak Aged beers are a bit over the top imo, but it’s quality for money I guess. Next time I’ll do the tour. | | dreadnord (16), Castel Volturno, Italy | | January 13, 2012 This place was fun. Nestled in the the south Holland countryside, this Trappist monastery is brimming with life. Inside the church grounds in the beer hall. Very rustic, open fireplaces and wooden tables. Service was great, beer severs spoke both dutch and English and made our time very easy. Selection was amazing considering they had every single beer of theirs available for consumption including older batches of the oak aged quads. Food was amazing, we had the onion soup and a huge American style hamburger. The price was a bit on the steep side for the food but the beer was fair. All in all, it was everything I though it would. A must if you are in south Holland. | | SamGamgee (182), down the whirlpool, California | | December 19, 2011 Rolled in late in the afternoon and somehow our tour was scheduled for the wrong day but they were still able to squeeze us in at the end of the day after hanging out at the gift shop for an hour or so. Relatively modern brewery inside an older looking monastery. They still have the old copper vessels aside in one room but the new stuff is all stainless all the way and their packaging line even has those fancy new robot pallet stackers. They have a nice guest building with a couple bar/eating areas and everything looks brand new though I think it’s supposed to have been an old shepherds shack or something... The quad on tap is nice. They have a funky house flavor in their beers that makes them probably my least favorite Trappist tied with Chimay, but the quad is so malty that you don’t get much of that. Very polished and commercial place overall. A neat experience but I’m not going to rush to emulate their brewing so I really didn’t get much out of it on the whole. | | Bart (74), Brussels, Belgium | | December 7, 2011 Nice located place near Tilburg. "Proeflokaal" with decent service, the La Trappe brews draft and bottled. Brasserie style food. On the premisses as well a shop with the La Trappe brews and other products, although rather expensive. | PANAYIOTISF (1), Nicosia, Cyprus does not count - explanation | | December 6, 2011 It is a nice place in a buitifull location. The Food was nice with a recomendation for a beer for each food. I definatedly recommend it. In addition you have the choice for a tour in the Brewrie. | | Martinus (70), Nijmegen, Netherlands | | October 24, 2011 Very busy when visited this Sunday. It was a lovely sunny autumn Sunday though, so this could’ve been expected. Service at the bar was very friendly despite it being undoubtedly a stressful day for them. The very scenic environment to drink a trappist ale made me instantly forget the ’hardship’ of having to wait in line.
The abbey store sells - amongst other things like cheese, crucifixes and candles - bottles of La Trappe beer, including oak aged Quadrupel.
Didn’t have time to tour the brewery, maybe some other day. | | DutchDrebus (18), Oirschot, Netherlands | | October 7, 2011 Great place with all the la trappe beers. Nice food selection. Great beers. Nice people working there. If you would like to taste the oak aged versions, and have a nice tour: you should go there. | | NoiZe (71), Amersfoort, Netherlands | | August 30, 2011 Nice place, very scenic. Take the tour. Nice food and La Trappe beers. | | Jerre (67), Waregem, Belgium | | July 31, 2011 Visit on 21.07.2011.
