| KyotoLefty (286), Kyoto, Japan | | September 12, 2011 Great place to get food, for sure, but the beer selection wasn’t that impressive. They have a lot of beer, but not a lot of interesting stuff. Still, pretty decent for a supermarket. Whole Foods on 4th in SF was much better, and cheaper. | | marcus (128), Sacramento, California | | November 9, 2010 This is an upscale grocery store that happens to have a pretty good selection of domestic and imported beers. They will usually have a couple that you can’t find anywhere else in the area. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | July 9, 2010 Visited this store on the same trip that I visited their new location (the "west" location). This store had a very decent selection of beer comparable to a Whole Foods. Parking wasn’t fun, but typical for this spot apparently. You can break up six packs for a reasonable price. I saw some things that are not available to me in SoCal. If you are going for beer, go to the new store, the selection is really WORLD CLASS! | | rayOfBeer (17), El Cerrito, California | | July 30, 2008 It’s a great produce and organic grocery store with decent prices for what they carry. As was said before, their beer selection is better than the average with several hard to find beers included. One nice feature of buying beer here is that buying a single is the same as 1/6 of their six pack price. The crowds at times can be daunting and pushy, but good beer makes up for a lot. | | Taverner (82), San Ramon, California | | February 27, 2008 Grocery store that has a great seleciton of food, including farmers market fresh produce. The beer selection is OK - about the same as Whole Foods. Of course, I am spoiled. | | ChillCoat (43), Concord, California | | February 4, 2008 One of the best places to shop for food (produce mostly) in the Bay Area. The Beer and Wine selection is much-better-than-average as well. | | bhensonb (375), Woodland, California | | November 6, 2007 I’d say Ledger’s and Monument have much wider selections. However, this place has odd items, and often before others. Today I got Cochonnette. If you are in Berkeley score this one behind Ledger’s and even or better with Whole Foods. And it does have parking! | | Aquilo (16), Berkeley, California | | July 9, 2006 Besides being the best place in the East Bay to buy produce (other than a farmer’s market,) Berkeley Bowl also has one of the better beer selections. The beer isle is small, but somehow they pack a lot in there. Well worth a look if you’re in the area. |
