May 30, 2010 This place was the closest thing to a "local watering hole" I had while in Berkeley. The selection is never super large, but they pick their beers carefully and are always rotating through one or two really tasty ones. The pizza’s pretty darn good, too. |
September 19, 2008 Finally got by this place after reading William Brands blog about it. I took my wife and 2 boys (4 yr. old and 5 mo. old) and had a great time. Some incredible smelling pasta for the boy and very tasty pizza for the wife and I, together with a Chouffe IPA tripel followed by a Delirium Tremens, completed our meal there. Wow, I must say the pizza and the IPA tripel were matched perfectly. The place had 3 large flat panel TV’s with football and baseball going. This is a rather small place and I can see it filling up regularly, especially for watching Cal games. The draft beers are unspectacular (Trumer, SNPA, Anchor, lagunitas IPA, Pyramid Hefe, and Barney Flats) but the bottle list is impressive for a small pizzaria. They had several Belgians (Chouffe IPA Tripel, Tremens, the 3 Chimays, Piraat, Duvel, Gulden Drak, and more) and a list of other beers mostly from California. The service was mainly help yourself but everyone was very friendly. I’ll be back. |
