| DYCSoccer17 (244), Woodland, California | | November 24, 2011 I was here a few weeks ago, and my sentiments echo many of those before. This place was actually off my radar until the guys at Triple Rock told me about it. I found several beers that I had never seen before (Pannepeut). Small selection that is mostly European micros. Lots of Scandanavian stuff. Smallish selection and decent prices. Beers are stored dark, which is cool. A nice hidden gem of a place. | | marcus (128), Sacramento, California | | April 10, 2011 Located in a trendy part of Berkeley, this is a specialty grocery store that happens to stock some beers that are very difficult to find in the Bay Area or, for that matter, anywhere is the U.S. The selection is not large, but very well-chosen. The staff is pleasant and helpful, especially if Harley (the beer guy) is in. | | asedzie (12), San Francisco, California | | July 16, 2010 Wildly good selection of international microbrews. Emphasis on Belgians and Scandinavians and an eclectic mix of other top quality brews. Obviously hand selected by someone who is very up to date on the world of craft brewing. Everytime I visit I find something rare which I never thought I’d have the opportunity to try. Grab one of the best sandwiches in the world at the deli while you are there. Thanks Star! | | bhensonb (375), Woodland, California | | February 16, 2010 Not that many bottles, but they are outstanding. I acquired thirteen rarities I’d never had before. Never seen many of them. Or heard of many of them. It’s definitely worth a side trip, if you’re heading for Ledgers. | | joeneugs (55), Livermore, California | | November 1, 2009 I would have never guessed this place had good beer by the looks of it. Its your classic old school corner grocery store in a quiet part of Berkeley. You have to go all the way to the back by the meat dept. in a very cramped isle to find the beer coolers. Once there, you realize they have made the most of their limited space. Only two or three small coolers, but they are packed with amazing beer. Good Belgians, and really good German beers, some I haven’t seen even at Ledgers. One of the employees spotted me examining the beer and came over and spent about ten minutes talking beer and helping me choose. Excellent service. Good prices too. Overall, if you can stop in, do it. | | Aquilo (16), Berkeley, California | | April 2, 2009 This is probably the closest place to where I live that has a good selection of beer. The beer is tucked away almost at the back of the store. There are, if I recall correctly, three coolers full of some amazing stuff. Whoever buys the beer for this store obviously loves beer. |
