| Sledutah (151), Utah | | May 16, 2012 Been here a few times. A small bar, not a lot of seating. I didn’t eat, so can’t comment on the food. The beer is good. The service was slow. Not too impressive of a place, but I’m sure I’ll be back anyways. | | aleph (22), , | | April 5, 2012 I get what this place is trying to be but it’s just not successful. Wish they would change out their kegs more, switch up the menu... but nothing doing. If I was satisfied with drinking the same beers over and over again, I’m sure I’d like it more (and its location is so convenient!). I guess with such a steady lineup, the staff doesn’t really need to be so knowledgeable about beer... | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | February 12, 2012 Large place with a couple of bars downstairs and a small but nice deck upstairs. Jam packed during SF beer week. Wortha look. | | thetmaxx (21), West Sacramento, California | | January 22, 2012 Enjoyed this brewpub. I did not try any food, just the spectrum sampler. There was 12 beers to sample. Have not seen a selection this good exept at valley brew. All of the beers were really enjoyable. Good service, amd a decent ambiance made it a nice visit. | | DYCSoccer17 (244), Woodland, California | | November 24, 2011 I was here a few weeks ago. Nice airy bar with hardwood floors, which is reminiscent of Big Time in Seattle. Tables on the right, bar on the left. They had about 10 house beers on and a couple guest beers on. Some nice and interesting choices. They also had Supplication on tap. Several hipsters working here, but they were knowledgeable and somewhat helpful. The food was forgettable pub faire, but good enough. Bathrooms were not the cleanest. Parking is a bitch, and I got a parking ticket. My bar tab started at 12:55pm and I received a ticket at 1:58pm. As I was heading out to my car to feed the meter again (at 2:00pm) , the meter maid was pulling away. Assholes. | | Nik925 (20), California | | August 17, 2011 Nice little place in Berkeley. Usually only end up here during SF beer week as they normally host a sour beer night and a barrel aged night. During these events the selection is fantastic! All the other times you are limited to their brews, which are solid. I heard a rumor that someone owns this, Jupiter (nearby beer garden) and Drakes brewing. There seems to be some connection to Drakes as they have ’single barrel’ batches of fruit-sour beers during events. Would like to see Drakes on tap here if so. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | May 3, 2011 [ Updated May 5, 2011 ] Stopped in after going to Jupiter for lunch. Nice area with a saloon like feel. Friendly and very knowledgeable bar tender. Good and interesting beers with plenty of info for the beer geeks. Didn’t try the food. 1 guest beer tap and a couple guest cider taps. 15 or 16 taps overall. Beer was good overall. Started talking to the couple next to me. Turns out it was the head brewer of Oakshire and his wife on vacation. We ended up chatting with the manager and the assistant brewer (soon to be head brewer), and got a tour of the small brewing facility (which is absolutely ancient). A great time was had, and I’d love to go back. | | Snojerk321 (53), San Diego, California | | October 17, 2010 Pretty cool place. Very friendly staff, not overly knowledgeable about the beer but tried. First time to Berkeley, very cool place. | | Kevinkarpiak (13), Massachusetts | | May 30, 2010 A nice, but completely average brew pub. Brew their own beers, none if which have ever got me very excited. If other people we’re going there, I wouldn’t fight them but it wouldn’t ge my choice. An alright place to watch a game, if you get one of the three or four hoof tables for doing so, even though they don’t play the volume loud enough. | | JohnC (137), Mission Viejo, California | | April 18, 2010 very good choice of beer, food was good, service was a bit slow, but all in all a good stop in berkeley |
