| johndoughty (15), cheslyn hay, England | | November 7, 2010 A run of the mill off licence with attitude. Where else can you find Harveys Imperial Stout next to Magners and Carling? Quite afew new ones from me which never happens in off licence chains. Worth checking out.Dont expect anything too exciting but be prepared for the unusual. | | tommann (13), Dudley, England | | October 3, 2010 The English ale selection is just generic suprmarket beers, but in the firdge is where the random selections begin. No order, Meantime Coffee porter next to Miller lite. Worth popping in if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t make a special trip. | | DanielBrown (191), Birmingham (via Leicester), England | | April 3, 2010 [ Updated March 11, 2011 ] Good off licence, slap bang on Harborne High Street. The thing which struck me about this place wasn’t that they carried a well chosen range of craft ales, but that they had some pretty oddball, unexplained choices. On my visit today I saw some German beers I’d never heard of, some South-East Asian lagers, a strong Swedish beer and a South African micro. I get the impression that this place just grabs a load of random stuff - which means I’ll have to keep popping in, from time to time. It also scores well for cheapness. UPDATE: electicness has gone downwards slightly. |
