Great selection of beers, wines and spirits, reasonably priced and always willing to show you around and help you be a bit adventurous when you don’t know what you fancy. Owners always friendly and have a laugh. Lived here for 2 years and never needed another shop.

Great little shop, with a fantastic selection of beers, ranging from local Midlands breweries to American craft beers to Belgian classics. Always seem to find something new to try. Friendly and helpful staff. Sure, it can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for!

Gone downhill a bit, still some interesting bottles but a lot of standard supermarket fare. Pretty expsensive too, many stock 4% bottles at £3!

Very interesting selection. British beers well represented. A few Belgians, but not so many as down the road at Stirchley Wines. Wonderful range of foreign spirits if you like that sort of thing. True it’s pricey, but there were some beers on offer if you look carefully.

Visited again in October 2010.Very much a shadow of its old self. Very limited stock with a few British Micro’s and a handful of Belgians. Now just a run of the mill off licence with a smattering of out of the ordinary beers. If you are in the area it might be worth dropping in but dont make a special journey.

Not too hard to get to - get off at Birmingham University rail station and walk for about 10 minutes. Half grocers/half beer shop, but still has a good selection. Has a very good range (when I have been) of beers (especially Bartrams) and all UK beers appear to be bottle conditioned, which should be applauded. I should warn you that some beers are out of date and taste as such. But, if you check the labels the beers are fine. A good shop.

A little hard to get to, in between Harborne and Selly Oak, this is a gem of a shop, with a large selection of UK real ales, and an eclectic collection of German, Belgian and world beers. Good range of wine too - not that I know much on that subject. Recommended for having some unusual treats.
