Visited the Monday 10th November 2014. Maybe the best authentic pub that I have ever visited. The place is really nice and looks like a classic pub. The beer selection is made on a screen with update of the beer selection. There are 16 cask with British beers and some local interesting product. Price are pretty. Service is good also. The place is really clean. On the roof there is a terrasse but I didnít visit it. I really recommend this place a must to see.

A little bit of a Birmingham institution. Pretty much the only place in Birmingham to get a half decent drink a few years ago. Sadly the Wellington has fallen behind the times and no modern British craft offerings are to be found. Even more forward looking Cask brewers are overlooked here. You should still be able to find a decent Oakham or Mallinsons most of the time however. And no dig to either of those as theyíre both fantastic breweries in my humble opinion. A recent refurbishment has the place looking better then ever, including a cluttered but welcome roof terrace. The carpets have even stopped smelling like death for the time being! Lesser staff will happily ignore you to serve friends and regulars but if Nigel is on heís a gent. Leaving from the back door will allow you to walk straight into the beer garden of the Old Joint Stock (Fullerís), a handy short cut!

16 quickly changing cask beers with 4 devoted to Black Country beers, order by pump number, very traditional, but has has an upstairs bar area with a pleasant outdoor decked area, I also believe they have sky sports now, always full of tickers at 10am, bring your own food, always guaranteed scoops of varying quality.

I seem to be in the minority in finding this place is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Itís always been a very male, very middle-aged, very traditional place (not necessarily a criticism) but there seem to be more idiots than I remember, and both the selection and condition of some of the beers is distinctly sub-par sometimes, Citra notwithstanding. BYO food, decent bar snacks, great whisky selection, mixed bag of staff, reasonable prices.

Probably Birminghamís best pub for variety & quality of cask beers. Have visited fairly frequently over the past several years. Good atmosphere. Last visited Sat 16/8/14

Around 18 ales on handpump in the ground floor bar. Order the ale by the number displayed on the large flat screen. More recently a bar upstairs with a smaller range of ales has been opened. Bring your own food in to the pub. Only a few minutes wlak from New Street station.

Wide range of beers on a flatscreen tv telling you info, friendly staff and nice old home atmosphere. Older crowd of reserved drinkers rather than a hopping youth hangout. Nice beer

Excellent Pub, the only place I know sells Citra on draught regularly. They donít serve food but they will provide plates, knife and fork if you want to order in. My favourite Pub in Birmingham for good beer.

Great pub on the city centre with a wide range of beer from every corner of England and further .. Top condition of the ales on tap and a very good service ! This pub really worth a visit for selection, atmosphere , service and quality .. On plus I can add the honesty of the staff that kept aside my iPhone when I left it on the bar and got out .. Thanks again !

Another top pub in Birmingham. Good to see it is still going strong. Large selection of ales and I love the way they supply plates and cutlery for you to bring a take away to eat in! A place to rub shoulders with brewers and fellow beer geeks.
