Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Decent liquor selection. Beer selection was ok. Picked up some Left Hand and a bottle of Rockmill which was a bit pricey.

I admit I’m a little biased because this is my local beer store, but this is where I do the vast majority of my beer shopping as I stop there pretty much every week. They have a really good selection of beer, and they’re always open to ordering different beer (and other products) there if you ask. Joe is the beer guy there, and he’s really helpful and great to talk beer with. He’s also an excellent homebrewer (I’ve tried a lot of his brews so I would know), so if you’re a homebrewer they also sell homebrewing supplies there too. And if you’re in the East side of Columbus, it’s definitely worth going there since I think it’s the best store in the area. They do like to try and pick up most local and Ohio brews that they can get, along with the other big brews that are available in Ohio. The service is great, and I would recommend for anyone to make a trip there if they’re in the area. Also, they have weekly beer (and wine) tastings on Thursdays and Friday evenings at 6, so it’s always a good chance to try something new.

I was visiting my sister and her husband out in Pickerington and they recommended this place for our beer run. First off, they are not big into the craft beer scene. The most adventurous they get is Newcastle and maybe Oberon in the summer. Not that there’s anything wrong with those beers, just...anyway I stopped in here on my way to there house. The store itself is pretty nice, lots of wine and lots of liquor. Too bad I don’t drink the hard stuff. I was told hello when I walked in but thats pretty much all I heard from anyone until I checked out. Their selection was ok but just did not wow me. I’m in Columbus for 2 wks and I’ve been to stores with much better selection. It’s not that they have a small selection, just nothing that wowed me. Would probably stop back in when visiting again for that sixer of Newcastle or Oberon.

This place is a little bit of a drive for me. Thats what has kept me from visiting until the other day. Its at the end of a small shopping plaza off of the right side of Broad street. The sign is big and easy to see. This is a good thing because many shops in Columbus are very hard to spot if you dont know exactly where they are. When I first walked in I was surprised at how nice it was in there. Off to the left there is a wine cellar style room made of rocks and fine wood shelving all filled with wines. There is a small bar there with wines set out for guests to sample. At first all you are greeted with is wine. The shop is probably 60% wine and 20% beer 20% spirits. The beer is mostly 6 packs kept in a big long cooler. Only about one door in the cooler and the inside of the walk in is for domestics, the rest is craft. I was pleasantly surprised with a few of the beers I found there. They still have HopSlam (about 3 cases!), 21 Amendment, all the typical Bell’s, Founder’s, Lots of Elevator (stuff I didnt know was being bottled). Outside of the cooler there are a few shelves. Some bombers and singles. There was a 4 pack and 3 singles of KBS just sitting out in plain view! It seems like this shop might get overlooked when it comes to those highly prized beers we get in Columbus. The other shelf had beers that were marked down really cheap, they must have been sitting a while. The last shelf is the best one. Its very tall and is filled with all their Belgian and German selections. The typical (and not so typical) selections from Unibroue are among others like St Bernardus. At the end of the counter there was also some beer set out for tasting. This time it was Rouge Mocha Porter. Behind the counter, spanning the whole length of the establishment are their spirits. It looked like there was some high end stuff. The only employees I saw were just young guys who seem to just be working there as a clerk for an after school job. I didnt ask any questions but I felt like they would not be as knowledgeable as the folks at other area shops. This is a very clean and well kept place. I think I will be headed back for more HopSlam and Ill keep this place in mind when the next rarity come through Columbus.

Loads of beer and they have lots of tastings. This is a good place to find stuff you may have not have been looking for but are welcome surprises. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Best place for purchasing your bottles on the east side of Columbus.

Great store that sells wine, beer, and the hard stuff. Very broad selection with a very strong regional selection. One of the better beer stores in Ohio. Very friendly service.

(Visited 08/2008): Blacklick Wine & Spirits is on the east side of Columbus a few miles east of I-270 on Broad Street. There is a decent-sized private lot out front that is shared with some other places in the strip mall. The interior is open and laid out well. Wine and spirits are near the entryway, with beer being in the left and rear of the store, most of it in coolers. There is a long counter along the right side of the store that almost looks like a bar. The beer selection is very good. Lots to choose from representing the Ohio and Michigan regions, from GLBC, Bell’s and Founders to goodies from further away like Avery, Rogue, Stone etc. Decent selection of imports from Belgium and the UK especially. Service here is very good, and these people clearly care about the beers. Our first visit was during a "Dogfish Head and Cheese" tasting and it was great. They really went out of their way to get someone from DFH who could speak with authority on their beers and what complemented the flavors. BW&S does tastings very frequently judging from their mailing list. Overall this place might be a haul for people not living on that end of the city but this place is definitely worth a trip.

Not a bad little store. In addition to having a good wine and liquor selection, this place has one of the best selections of beer on the East side of Columbus. Nice selection of regionals and local beers as well. Probably 30-40 or so singles to choose from also, so if that’s what you’re into, it might be worth a trip. Prices are better than I’ve seen other places for the same beer in most cases.

"Yeah, I’ll take a 6 of Ruination and a 4 of Double-Trouble to go?!" This place is the first craft-beer place I’ve seen with a drive thru. This is probably the best beer store I’ve yet found in Columbus, although my exploration is so far limited to this spot, From the Vine, and a few area grocery stores. This is a state-owned l;iquor store, but has a decent amount of cooler and warm space devoted to beer. As you enter, there’s a small cooler of imports, as you go deeper in the store there’s a long beer cooler along your left, and there’s warm storage of bombers and 12oz singles to your right and front. You can mix and match a 6-pack from a small selection on a shelf. Prices are a tad high, but pretty typical for a specialty shop. The help here is pretty transparent. They all seem young, and the place is usually busy enough they seem to be occupied with just keeping the registers and drive-through running. I’m not exactly blown away by this store, but as I said, it is the best I’v

This store has apparently gone through an expansion. I was told it used to be a straight liquor store but it is far better than that now. A fine beer selection with plenty of everything. Plenty of alcohol to suit your needs both high and low end. And the wine selection looks decent as well. I get up that way about once a year and I will certainly make it a regular stop.
