This is the restaurant attached to the shop and it is a great relaxing place. The staff know their beers and they know what to advise. What is sad is that they charge a premium to drink there. I just bought some beers from the shop and I couldn’t drink them and if I ordered them I would have to pay extra. The food was delicious but it was lacking in sides. I wouldn’t come here for the food anyway. Nonetheless, the selection of DeMolen and other beers is impressive and coming here to get some drinks is really a nice option.

This place is well worth, the trouble getting there. The bar area had five of their recent brews on tap and you could buy many more of the bottled ones. The store had a pretty good selection considering how small it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tour was fairly interesting, but mostly about the brewing process. If you can make out there, got for it if for no other reason than their hard to find beers. Great Brewery.

Only a cheap and short train ride away from Amsterdam (30 to 45 minutes?), visiting De Molen is a must if you spend more than one day in Amsterdam. The little quiet and apparently conservative village where De Molen is located is such a change of pace from the extra-liberal Amsterdam that it is almost like you’re in another country. The pub is a five minute walk from the gas station and is truly charming. As expected built in a windmill structure. Old, well-restored and inviting. A few tables on the side offers a front patio for less than 10 people. The inside is divided in two rooms, one is more pub and one more restaurant, and it can accommodate approximately 75 people. There was 6 beers on tap, all in perfect shape (unlike their bottles that often suffer carbonation issues) and all very good. Food is not elaborated but it is original and also very good, this is not your burger and fries pub. Also let’s not forget the Bottle Shop on your left when you walk in. Quite small but offers a surprisingly good selection, a lot more than just De Molen beers. I even bought there a rare Italian Saison (Toccalmatto Sibilla) because I’m a saison-whore. And also I wrote to the store a month before I came to put limited beers aside for me and when I got there my rare beers were there waiting for me. Staff couldn’t be more friendly and knowledgeable. If you can’t tell, I really loved that place. A must.

Beer shop has a good, but variable range. Relatively expensive. Restaurant is nice, but food average. Service friendly, but slow.

I’ve visited the restaurant and the bottle shop after dinner. Beer selection in the small store was huge! I liked so much the food and the service to, had a very nice day in Bodegraven.

Really cool little restaurant/bar area and shop. Definitely something cool about hanging out in a windmill (definitely recommend going up to the top). Nice selection of bottles from all over the world and friendly service. Definitely a small place, though.

Visited during the 2012 festival. Great selection in the bottle shop and of course at the festival. Would like to visit on a non festival day and eat as I’ve heard the food is great.
