| tderoeck (93), Gent, Belgium | | October 27, 2011 Saturday nights are pretty crowded. While waiting for a table, we had a drink on the 2nd floor. It took quite a while before we could order and even (much) longer before we got our drinks. All at the bar, mind you, no service. I did get my sample flight though, that I thought was pretty neat. Beers were average, some below, a couple above. Food was ok, but not excellent. Fries were cold and soft. And I know there’s nothing like Belgian fries, but we had better in the States than here. | | williamstome (22), Somerville, Massachusetts | | September 16, 2011 nice selection of in house brews on draft, nice atmosphere, nice prices, nice food.
Nice. | | halfonit (64), Fall River, Massachusetts | | August 28, 2011 Nice place right outside of the Garden. The lower level is where the long bar is located. Upstairs has pool table (that are a bit expensive to use). The service is friendly and knowledgeable about beers. They obviously like to drink it. It’s good time if you like lively and noisy spots. | | Chaseman (17), Massachusetts | | August 26, 2011 The Boston Beer Works on Canal is one of my favorite places because of it’s large, relaxed setting which is a definitely an anomaly in Boston. I never feel cramped in there, and the amount of pool tables is awesome. I admit that I haven’t truly explored their beer menu as I usually stick to a couple of favorites, but I think of it more as a hangout destination than a craft beer destination. I recommend it to anyone looking for a place to watch the game on tv, or for a casual place to play pool and drink good beer. It’s a great change of pace to the other bars on Canal and in Faneuil Hall which get loud, crowded, and filled with college aged kids looking for fights. | | Mostoboy (17), , Spain | | April 30, 2011 Nice place to stop and enjoy slowly. | | sogrady (20), Maine | | February 13, 2011 If you’re around North Station, this place is serviceable. Their beer is all brewed in house, and varies pretty widely. Some of it’s a bit better than average, while some of it (the Pumpkin seasonal, for example) is barely drinkable.
Interior is very new, and comfortable if sterile.
All in all, an average venue. | | AirForceHops (47), Epping, New Hampshire | | August 30, 2010 Got off at North Station and walked down Canal St past several other sports bars that all looks great from the outside and finally got to the Beer Works. It’s large inside with an upstairs (pool tables) The service was great and super friendly. There were 14 beers on tap, how good are they??? Nothing that I have to return for. But if you are in town for a Bruin or Celtics game, a better choice then other places in the area. | | liveFREEorRYE (10), Portsmouth, New Hampshire | | August 29, 2010 This is a good place to go if your going to a bruins/ celtics game but their beers are mediocre and nothing too great, I did like the back bay IPA, and there bluebeery was okay. The food is pretty good though better place to eat than drink. | | Lubiere (349), Ottawa, Ontario | | August 20, 2010 Great location close to the TD Gardens-North Station. A gain, a good use of early 20th century building, huge terrasse in the front, and excellent cuisine, with great pulled pork sliders, The beers were OK , not much more, but there was 4 flemish sour barrels aging in the back. Friendly service as usual. | | mephisto (52), , Taiwan | | May 14, 2010 a spacious place with a nice variety of their own beer on tap. the waiter is very friendly and teh food is fine for a sports bar. the beer is a different story. but a fine place to visit nevertheless. |
