Walnut brewery is your typical big, high cieling, boisterous colorado brewpub, which not is not a bad thing, in spite of it being only typical. I like the ambiance on the inside and that of boulder, but I don’t know who controls the music, because sometimes its good classic rock beer drinking music but other times I was in there it was top40, terrible. Like people are saying the majority of the selection is pretty standard fare, although one thing I will say is every time I go there there are some new things available, so thats good. Some of the beers I thought were decent, others not so much. Food is actually pretty good here, definitely better than most brewpubs, so I don’t know what some people are talking about. Value is ok, its not too pricey but you are in boulder. Overall not a bad destination, you won’t be blown away but you’ll be satisfied.

The Walnut bar is at one end of the tourist area. It is a decent looking place, and larger than the average bar, and one can come here and talk beer, and sit or stand at a decent sized bar. A little loud for music at 315 pm. The beer selection and quality is a bit poorer than the regular Rock Bottom brewpubs. They have to pick it up here to stay competitive to craft beer consumers. If you want a light session beer,as opposed to some inetresting imperial stout, this is the place to come. If you have the time, pop in.

Miserable food....that corporate created stuff they use at places like apple bees or TGI Fridays. Beers were alright...but flat. I liked that I could see the brew pots but it was just ok.

Great venue. Large, but pub like. Great sampler. Great hummus. Very talkative and informative server. Something of a local. They comped the parking lot across the street.

Went here for dinner and beers. Big place with a kind of chain restaurant feel. Good service. Beer was ok, all kind of bland but nothing offensive. The food was excellent, way better than expected. Overall I would recommend the food but the beer wasn’t anything to get excited about.

A fairly standard brewpub. I liked that they had a mug club with all the individual mugs displayed on the mantle. I tried the sampler but seemed to be the only one drinking beer. The chap I spoke to next to me was rockin the mixed drinks and was happy to do so. The place in itself seemed cool enough. I doubt they make fantastic beer, and what I tried verified that. A decent stop though.

Standard pub style atmosphere. Small patio area outside. Decent selection of beers. The main thing that turned me off about this place was the fact that I had an Irish Red Ale that tasted like mint mouthwash. Had a brown ale that was decent. Pretty expensive for pints of decent beer too.

Visited this place when the local college football town had to play at home, and won. Crowded with football fans. Bad service, too crowded without having atmosphere. Although the beer is not bad, I wouldnt recommend it, or maybe on a quieter evening.
