12 reviews for Brattleboro Food Coop
| Lubiere (177), Ottawa, Ontario | | August 9, 2009 This place has renovated since my last visit, for the better. Similar to Whole Foods, with good cheese, wine and beer selection. A lot of the McNeills, and other Vermont offerings, with good classics, such as Stone, Kasteel, Harpoon, etc...good prices. | | mcox90 (22), Wilton, | | May 2, 2009 As others have mentioned, basically a food co-op in an artsy, hippie town. Very impressed with the beer selection. Local brews of course. McNeill’s, Trout River, but also a good selection of other craft brews. Prices, I thought were quite reasonable. One of the things I liked about Brattleboro, is everything is within walking distance. I hit McNeill’s, Flat Street and this place, all within an hour or so. | | altonbrownd (71), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | February 26, 2009 Pretty solid selection for what is basically a health-conscious, alternative supermarket in a small town. I’d say there are about 150 different beers, with some good representatives from abroad. But mainly the standouts are Vermont beers, like McNeill’s and Trout River. | | Sammy (273), Toronto, Ontario | | July 11, 2007 A small selection of beer, though all of the recent 4 offerings of
McNeill, Be sure to buy additional choices at the pub itself (and take the car). Good selection of food accompaniments for beer. Almost everything in the cooler. Almost all, local selection. Closed at 9 pm. | | Nate (194), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | May 9, 2007 Stopped here before heading out of town and grabbed a few bottles to bring back with me. Good selection of McNeill’s - same price per bottle as the brewpub itself. Got a 750mL of Rodenbach Grand Cru for $8.50, which I thought a good deal. Had some Berkshire and just a few other New England beers. Not a huge selection, though. | Hippystomper (7), Narragansett, Rhode Island does not count - explanation | | March 29, 2007 Great little grocery store. Pretty big for a co-op. Great food, service, and people. As far as beer, it’s not the best selection. Mostly local stuff, like McNeills and Trout River (which was awful). But worth checking out anyway if you like organic, vegetarian foods and the like. | | Cletus (175), Connecticut | | January 16, 2006 Not sure why this place is even listed. Minus McNeills offerings which you could get fresh up the street, this place just offered your typical macro crap and there are at least 2 other places in the area with a much better selection. A complete waste of time. | | frylock (37), Buffalo, New York | | December 29, 2005 I didn’t really look at much here except the beer. Selection was fairly small, but had several McNeill’s, including the Imperial Stout which was not available in bottles at the brewery. Also picked up some Berkshire and Trout River stuff. Right around the corner from McNeills, so you don’t really have to go out of your way. | | Goldorak (110), Montreal, Quebec | | July 21, 2005 I love these kinds of stores. Very community-oriented and way out in left field sometimes. We stopped here for lunch and ate quite well, especially by American standards. No Beer allowed in the dining section, we didn’t buy any because there wasn’t anything too amazing in the fridge, and the McNeill’s selection was the exact same as at the pub. Cheeze selection wasn’t as nice as at City Market in Burlington, but was quite respectable. Look out for the parking police, they seem to be a little anal, and looked at us funny as we walked in and out of the store. | | muzzlehatch (255), Burlington, Vermont | | May 31, 2005 Ehhh. You guys are generous! Apart from McNeills, the selection is not very interesting...I can think of at least 3 VT co-ops with better; and the cheese and bread selection leaves something to be desired IMHO. But, I’m very picky when it comes to grocery stores so take it with a grain of salt. You should visit if you have time before/after McNeills, if you care at all about good food and especially if McNeills’ bottled selection at the pub is low. On 2nd thought, maybe I’ll be generous too.. |
