You would never believe this place would have a selection like they do. $1 off of craft beers on Thursday and Sunday.

I have been here quite a few times with a friend who lives near by. I have always had excellent service and they have a very good beer selection and prices. Interesting crowd at times. Nice to play some pinball as well.

Total dump with a glorious beer selection which makes it worth the trip. I agree with the other poster...maybe the quality is not always good, but it’s still nice to have the selection. As Palemers is redeemed only by it’s sheer # of beers and sweet beer garden, Brixie’s has a more eclectic blend of draft beers and the bartenders usually know their stuff. If they could add some form of a frozen pizza (how about Home Run Inn’s) to compliment the great beer, this place would be unbeatable.

Have been to this place several times and it is a shit hole dive bar with a good beer list. It looks like a warehouse with cement floors with round tables and bar stools and a couple of pool tables. Every time I have gone in there is shitty 80’s and 90’s metel playing and locals drinking Miller Lite. It is open late and has a good beer list and that is about it.

Perfect spot if you like a dive-type bar with a great beer selection. My fav beer bar outside of Chicago proper. Only complaint is they don’t turn over the kegs fast enough, so sometimes beer gets a little old. Just need some more people to go check it out. How can you complain about a place that had Founder’s Breakfast Stout on tap this fall?

Time to give this place its props, if only for having the Bell’s Kalamazoo Royal Amber. Looks like the same old neighborhood tap, though it’s in a newer building with a steel girder ceiling and garage doors, presumably for summer beer gardening. Way too smoky right now, but good prices on the many brews already listed here. Don’t think there’s any food to be had here. This is right off the Congress Park station on Metra’s Burlington Northern line should make for a good pub crawl by train, taking in the Downers Grove Emmet’s and Walter Payton’s (America’s Bar to you non-Bears fans).

Brixie’s is a nice little find I was unaware of until they signed up to be the first to release Bell’s unofficial return to the Chicago market with Kalamazoo Royal Amber Ale. Excellent draught and bottle selection. Draughts include the likes of Goose Island Imperial IPA, Old Rasputin, Sprecher Black Bavarian, Three Floyd’s Gumballhead, Alpha King and Pride & Joy, Sierra Nevada Celebration and Anniversary Ale, and Bear Republic Racer 5. Prices are very reasonable as well, especially on Tuesday’s as duckdibraccio indicated. The one negative, and it’s a big one, is that they have to clean their tap lines and/or run them before the first pour of the day.The BR Racer 5 I had was a shadow of what it should be and the Founder’s Breakfast Stout I had was strangely pedestrian. If you’re going offer great beer, as Brixie’s commendably does, you have to make sure it’s served fresh and clean. Brixie’s is located in a bit of beer mecca as it would appear, within 4 miles of Palmer Place and Chef Paul’s Bavarian Lodge, making for good pub crawl possibilities. When the Illinois smoking ban goes into effect in January, the place will be even more pleasant to visit.

29 beers on tap which now includes delerium tremens, maudite 3 tap handles of 3 floyds, 2 handles on dogfish head, optimator, red seal, Founders dirty bastard, Goose Matilda, and Sierra Nevada. Bottle selection includes founders breakfast stout, flying dog gonzo imperial porter, victory Goden Monkey, and others. Tuesday micro drafts are on sale for $2 and $2.50, can’t beat that.
