| BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | January 9, 2012 Took me a while to find. Found it around 3pm on a Sunday. Sign on the door said back in 5...waited for 20 minutes for nothing...Went back an hour later, sign was still up, but the person working there actually came by about a minute later. Small shop but a decent selection. I wouldn’t really return though. | | swoopjones (190), Buffalo, New York | | November 25, 2011 real small place on a co-op of sorts. Pretty solid selection of Shelton Brothers & 12% importers (Evil Twin & Stillwater). Lots of rareties. Ron was great behind the counter. Good to search for hard to get stuff. Probably not a 6 pack stop | ChairMissing (7), Brooklyn, New York does not count - explanation | | November 1, 2011 I go here a lot because I live up the block, but for the most part, it’s an overpriced novelty store with a minimal selection. Staff seems to know about beer and run into interesting people in the store (was even suckered into buying cider...). They do carry a lot of imports you don’t see other places and is sometimes a good spot to find interesting releases well after fact (had Rare on shelves for months), but not a regular buying spot. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | July 11, 2011 Near impossible to find hole in the wall bottle shop in hippie central part of Brooklyn. The shop has room for about three people inside with a very large selection going from floor to ceiling. Only a handful of bottles looked interested, but all the prices were otherworldly. I personally don’t think it’s worth trying to find this place compared to New Beer Distributors (NBD) and Bowery Place Whole Foods. Staff dude was very nice though. | | luttonm (47), Belgrade, Serbia | | December 11, 2010 Awesome little backroom off the mainstreet in Williamsburg. Limited but very well curated selection, man who works there is charming and helpful. Knows his stuff and appreciates it. I’d be a regular here if I lived in the city | | ketchepillar (18), Albuquerque, New Mexico | | June 16, 2010 Very small place tucked away. Even harder to find than their bar, which has no sign whatsoever. Small, but good selection. Prices are very high. For example, Cascade Apricot and Kriek were $22 here as opposed to $15 at NBD. 30% to 50% more than NBD seemed about average. Guy working was kinda weird and not super helpful. | | goatboy (42), Vancouver, British Columbia | | October 8, 2009 My wife found this store as we were on our way to the bar with the same name. small store with a teriffic selection of hard to find beer’s, very knowledgable & friendly staff, I picked up Fantom and Avery beers and there was a great selection of Lambic’s as well, although on the expensive side. I would definatly go back to this store to buy more of these gems. | | WeeHeavySD (111), San Diego (Hillcrest), California | | August 7, 2009 should update this after going tomorrow, but I have been happy in the past with their selection and cool staff. Very small but great. | | ManvsCity (22), Redmond, Washington | | May 25, 2009 [ Updated May 26, 2009 ] Visiting from the West Coast, I had a chance to explore with George, the proprieter, some of the stuff he recommended from local brewers that we just don’t see back home. We chatted for some time, and he knew something about every brewer represented in his stock. Prices were NOT higher than other specialty shops in the NYC metro area by any means. And SDG has som real rare Belgians and vintage bottles you’re not going to find most other places. The store is only, like, two blocks from the Bedford Ave L subway line, and four blocks from the SD bar and associated Fette Sau bar-b-que on Metropolitan Ave. A three way Mecca of craft beer in Brooklyn.
| | puzzl (100), New York, New York | | February 6, 2009 Often carries some tough rarities and imports that you can’t find anywhere else in NY. However, they charge a pretty penny for them — this is by far the most expensive bottle shop in NYC. |
