| AMcD (10), , | | May 2, 2012 Very touristy place but has a good selection of beers. Can be difficult to get a table if you just want a drink. Staff tend to be less friendly and less knowledgable than in other bars in town. | | Forsberg_dk (15), , Denmark | | April 17, 2012 A visually stunning place, but overrun by turists so not as cozy as it could be. Service is friendly and the selection is very good overall. | | BlackHaddock (175), , England | | April 3, 2012 This relatively ’new kid on the block’ is pushing the anti a little higher in Brugge.
A 1699 build Belgian house with a British style pub within. Brass lampshades and wood all over, it appears a little false and commercially driven, which of course it is. However it is tastefully done and although not what I’d expect to find in a bar with 400 beers to choose from, I liked it.
I was in a party of 12 and most hadn’t a clue what they wanted (or liked), the staff were patient and persevering, they did clear off once they realised most had not idea what they were doing, luckily it was early evening and not very busy.
The house blond was fine to drink as I wandered through the beerbook, a Pannepot Old Fishermans Ale caught my eye, that was second.
The food was big, my Canneloni was very good, everyone else also ate and no one left a thing, so thumps up for the food.
The traditional beer bars of Brugge still have a pull on me, but I’ll be taking the wife here on our next visit, she’ll love it.
| | prawlie (36), , England | | March 17, 2012 A very nice, if somewhat busy bar/restaurant. Had a lovely Flemish stew and a Struise Pannepeut, the beer menu is pretty extensive - well worth a visit! | | BattRD_Gent (12), Heule, Belgium | | February 20, 2012 Nice place with a very large range of beers. Close to the market of Bruges. This one you must visit on your quest through the Belgian beer landscape. | | loys (13), , | | February 7, 2012 Interesting place to combine good food and good beers, 100m from the markt. | | Caytinator (25), Kaiserslautern, Germany | | February 6, 2012 Do yourself a favor; get a reservation, then prepare for an AWESOME experience. They have the best beer menu of any restaurant I’ve ever seen (color-coded!) and almost everything is in stock! Every meal I’ve had there has been unforgettable, and pretty much everything is cooked with beer! The cheese croquettes we ate for our appetizer were made with Chimay cheese. Cambrinus is the real King of Beer! | | Oostende (11), Oostende, Belgium | | January 17, 2012 Nice place in the center of old town Bruges.
Wonder full Beer list, don a good job to get that list done. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | January 6, 2012 Decent place, pretty average prices for Brugge. Large selection with a handful of interesting things. Food was tasty. | | sebletitje (198), Enghien, Belgium | | December 26, 2011 Good old renaissance style atmosphere. Sat at the bar, waited for a while with a bunch of dirty glasses all over the counter. Drank their ’bruin’ and left.
The menu looked interesting but after seeing how everything was churned out of the kitchen like a factory I figured that maybe it would not be the kind of cuisine I had imagined.
Nice beer selection, some pricey ones, some reasonable and a good selection of small regional beers. Another place that shines by its location and architecture/history but that the overly noisy and crowded atmosphere did not appeal to me especially if it’s too hear loud English shouting around the bar. |
