Small nice bar area. Didn’t eat at the restaurant. Decent beer selection, but nothing special for Brussels. Good service. Nice atmosphere to sip a beer in.

Very small restaurant which does not accept reservations. If possible the maitre lets you wait at the tiny bar. We were lucky but lots of others had to leave. I think that is ok because otherwise eating and chatting is impossible. Food was good to very good. Veal meatballs or blinde vincken, cool belgium classics. They had Delta from Brussels Beer Project on tap which was awesome. Prices are very reasonable for this ares. Service was very good. One waiter serving the whole room and no delays. A miracle.

Visited in October 2012.
I agree with most of the things people say that make this place score highly, but the fact that we didn’t have reservations and the fact that we were under 30 and not dressed in expensive clothes meant the service (at least at first) bordered on garbage. OK, it’s a nice restaurant and they get busy, but 1) they were only half full and 2) they let several other people sit down inside that didn’t have reservations. Hmm. Off to the sidewalk with us. Actually, it was a nice evening, even if a bit chilly, and I don’t mind sitting outside cafe-style on the cobblestone.
I think all three of us ordered the same thing, the gueuze and rabbit stew. which was reasonably priced for how nice the restaurant is supposed to be. The server that helped us outside, after the initial run in with the maitre d’, was quite nice. We each ordered a small bottle of gueuze to go with the gueuze in the stew. I naturally went with Hanssens. Less than $10, at a restaurant, not bad. The food was quite good, and probably the best gueuze rabbit stew I’ve ever had, which has only happened three times ever (de Cam and The Trappist in SF).
Despite the uppity servers I’d come back and enjoy a nice meal and a bottle of lambic.

The opening hours appear to be little more than a suggestion which is unfortunate. The place is not too far from Central Station & pretty much anything central. Love the “De La Senne” style logo. The place itself is quite small & if you show up, you might have to wait some time before the place clears up which is a bit weird. Still the place is all wood & lovely. Service is with care & good. The main attraction of this place is obviously the food & not the beer. The food is great, nice prices, great quality, what I had was very delicious, enough, had dinner & desert, loved it. Chefs appeared to be serving at some point which is something I have never even heard of. The food is really the reason to come here, I absolutely loved it, wonderful stuff. The portions were ample, 0 complaints there. If you are lucky & have a table, you need to show up for that. As far as the beer is concerned, the menu is very solid for a restaurant. Small bottles are standard prices but nothing new for me, some people might pick up something new. Big bottles were totally overprized for me, 20+ € for somewhat less common Cantillon is heavy plus other stuff was def. not cheap either. You will be sure to get min. 1 tick as far as the big bottles go but don’t expect to much. Just eat here & get something small & it will be great. My rating is mainly influenced by the food.

Small, but perfectly-formed, restauranted housed in a beautiful Art Deco / Noveau building, decorated with Communist-themed art. The tables are packed in close together and the diners all seem happy to engage other tables in conversation. Small, but perfectly-formed beerlist, featuring lesser-known high-quality beers, which the staff will happily recommend to match your food (make sure to check the fireplace for the rarities and specials). And what food it is! Delicious, hearty Belgian classics with a beery twist. The cherry pie with Oude Kriek cream was sublime. Vive la revolution!

Nice small place with good food (not great) and a fairly good selection of beer. They deserve kudos for having two specials on tap, both fairly unique. Nice, friendly staff giving great food pairing recommendations.

Finally got to visit the place, and what a day for my dad’s 70th bday.
Art deco style typical of DLS design and labels influenced by Eshter Goovaerts. Old classical Brussels house. Place is rather small and low key. No music going on which is a nice invitation to chat or discuss with other tables.
Friendly service. Beer selection is decent enough sporting enough styles and offerings from Belgium. Sadly once you wander off the regular list the beers shoot up in price.
Food was nice as well, though I was not as impressed as I had anticipated from reading the previous reviews.
Tapas were filling, the beef stew with Rocherfort sauce was tasty but the sauce was rather bland, missing some spices, salt and pepper to kick the whole thing up a notch. All in all a nice little spot, but Restobieres remains my top place to visit. I thought the atmosphere appeared a bit too cold at times.

Very soft and nice place, albeit a bit small and crowded. Quite impressive beer list and helpful and competent staff. The best with this place was the food though, which was excellent.
