I hesitate to call it a shit hole but it’s really a shit hole. smoky, dirty smelling, filled with televisions, ugly bar signs, torn upholstery on the booths, broken chairs, dirty foosball and pool tables. and the beer is absolute shit.

Small cellar bar by the heavily traficked street. Not that cozy. "No English" said barmaid. 3 Osterbräu beers on tap. 4 other not so thrilling beers on bottles. This place is only for the ticks...

Normal bar with low standard. The big thing are the Osterbrau beers, not a big deal after all. Wathever, if you are around go there and have a cold one. But if you are far away, I do not recommend the effort.

Half pub - half gaming room. Only serving two house brews on my visit and the beers were average, if not bad. Don’t come looking for a memorable culinary experience. Food is simple pub fare - burgers, chips, sandwiches and things of that sort - all slopped together with perfection. Worth a look for a couple of ticks but that’s it really.

As others have said, an Osterbräu (Domony) outlet in a basement not far away from the Margit Hid bridge. There’s an Osterbrau (Fót) outlet not far on Fő utca, but I doubt you can mix that up with this. When we arrived around 16:30, all the tables were empty but reserved until 20:00... wha? Thankfully, we didn’t need a table and there was some place like that. Three beers available, the Gyömber, Világos and Fekete... just don’t confuse the mixture between the Világos and Fekete for the Vörös... we almost got that I reckon. The service is ok, not much English spoken but you can get by. The ambiance is nice actually for some unexplainable reason. 4 TV’s on, 2 showing sports, 2 Animal Planet heh. Aah, ok place, a must visit to try the Domony beers.

Located in a basement setting a short walk from the Margit Hid Bridge HEV or 4/6 Tram. Armando had reserved a table in advance, so it was no trouble getting a seat. Very popular place with the under 30 crowd and rightly so. Microbrews on tap from Osterbrau which is a rarity (unfortunately) right now in Hungary. The beers are generally good, well made and affordable. The Helles beer was very light and refreshing with just a slight fruitiness flavor in the body and finish. The Honey and Ginger beer was the best had that evening. It was malty, spicy and in the finish it was a little sweet. Fun place to hoist a few with some serious fooseball action going on in the corner. Lively and happening, but can be a little on the warm side (mid Oct), so dress appropriately.

Basement place. Descrepit from outside, nice from the inside. Few people inside but most of the tables were reserved. The beers are interesting but rather average, and the food was good (chicken fillet with cheese sauce, seasonal vegetables and potatoes). Service was a bit slow.

I did not like this place. Bit like a 7-eleven joint with orange interior, just to lighten up a dull atmosphere. Service was okay. Beers were miserable, and the overall feel here didn’t make stay a second after having sampled their beers.

As noted by previous raters, this friendly bar serves the beers from a countryside Hungarian microbrewery, so that’s reason enough to visit when in Budapest, where good beer tends to be reclusive. I wasn’t too impressed by the Osterbrau beers to be honest, but I would say the Vilagos and the Mézes deserve as much attention as the Kaltenberg beers on the other side of town. The Barna had definite problems though, which made me skip the Vörös. The waitress tried to sell us some liquor shots with our beer before even saying hi...a strange approach to say the least. They were not serving any food the evening we met up with Armando, so I cannot comment about that. That being said, do come here when you are in Budapest. This is a fun bar where locals hang out, not just another tourist joint.

Mid sized bar serving the interesting range of beers from Osterbräu in Domony. The waiter apparently needed to gothrough all the specials boozes of the day before he let us order our beer, but in the end everything worked out fine. Come here for the good beers and to meet the locals.
