| Scipio (10), Vernon Hills, Illinois | | March 11, 2012 Good store with a friendly staff. Every time an employee walks by, they offer to help. I often get 3 or 4 of them asking if I’m there long enough. And they’re fairly knowledgeable. I think they have a better selection than most places. | | KickInChalice (20), Chicago, Illinois | | February 17, 2012 Binny’s is a solid chain, with a solid (or better) selection of craft beer at each location, and Binny’s Buffalo Grove is no different. Although they have a noticeably smaller selection than their neighbors to the West, Binny’s Lake Zurich, they still have a solid selection of Belgian and other European staples as well as all of the Midwestern goodies I expect from them.
Their staff is solid, and I have had a number of conversations with people in their beer department. Like most places, their non-beer people are not as informed, but they will find someone to help you.
The prices are on par with the other locations, and they will sometimes have great sales (Christmas, Belgian month, American craft beer month, etc.). The one downside is that their beer aisle runs up against the window, so anything sitting at the end for more than a few days might be lightstruck. Choose carefully, but overall you should find what you are looking for. | | Tmoney99 (331), Cincinnati, Ohio | | December 1, 2011 Went to this store before a business presentation at a local police department. Easy parking in front of the building. Large building with well organized shelfs with wine, liquor on the right and three large shelfs of beers on the back right. Good selection of standard micros in bombers and six packs and good selection of Illinois beers. Found six new beer for me. Party goods, wine and hard liquor store at good prices. Freindly package store service. Nice location and I will return when in the area. | | JoePeesie (63), Long Lake, Illinois | | September 20, 2011 This was my regular beer shop when I worked in the area. Good store hours, knowledgeable staff, good prices. Solid selection. | | msante79 (253), Mount Prospect, Illinois | | August 15, 2011 Stopped in on way home from work. Good sized Binny’s located in a strip mall. Had a pretty good selection of bombers of six packs. No singles section. I would say this is a slightly above average Binny’s. | | jeremytoni (110), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | July 18, 2011 Good selection of singles, bombers, and six packs. | | Walt (189), Austin, Texas | | May 8, 2008 Pretty decent and similar to other Binnys...I don’t think the selection was as good though... | | Ughsmash (138), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | January 10, 2008 I was exceedingly lucky the first time I stopped here.. they somehow had Cantillon Loerik on the shelves. Subsequent trips yielded very little (if anything) I didn’t see in other Chicago area stores (although I was there when they got a case of Kentucky Breakfast in). It’s another large, bright, open warehouse-type locale with friendlier service than most. This is the best selection I found in the immediate area. | | Cornfield (143), Oak Forest, Illinois | | December 12, 2006 Quite comparable to the other Binny’s in the area. Good selection of imports and micros, but I think that both the Glen Ellyn and Naperville shops are better. Worth stopping in. I picked up two "new" brews, so I was happy. | | ElGaucho (183), Minnetonka, Minnesota | | July 8, 2006 My frame of reference is the only other Binny’s I’ve been to, Glen Ellyn. Very similar stores, but I believe this one is bigger. Beer-wise, very similar selections, but my impression was that Glen Ellyn had a couple of more special, hard-to-find selections. Buffalo Grove has the new Sam Adams 4-packs, not that that is hard-to-find. Not knowing the Buffalo Grove beer scene, I have to imagine it is one of if not the best selections in the area. So, if you are in the area, it’s worth a stop. I didn’t have occasion to get any service, as I quickly walked in, looked around and left. I did have someone say hello to me as I left, so that was good. |
