| TEJA (36), Stockholm, Sweden | | March 16, 2012 On the day of arrival from Sweden my local frien brought me to the Steelhead brewery. It is a brewery and not a pub, but from time to time they have an open brewery with other local brewers invited. The beer is not that many different varietys but all are OK. The food is a small selection and not that good when I was there. It seem they just started a litle while ago but they are getting their brewing in good shape. If my good friend Bob still lives in San Carlos the next time I visit San Fransisco I’ll come by them and see what’s new.
I think they will improve. | | Sledutah (151), Utah | | June 21, 2011 Located in a old big warehouse. A large dinning area with a fairly small bar compared to the rest of the building that faces the brewery. Off the restaurant is a billiard room with about 7 pool tables, with taps in the room. Service was good, considering it was Tuesday night and the place was packed. Food and beer was good. Food was on the high side, but the good price of the beer averaged it out. I’ll be back. | bpipkin (6), California does not count - explanation | | January 5, 2010 Good beer and good food, I make a point to stop here when I’m in the area. Right across the street from the train station in downtown Burlingame. | | mrhoppy (87), Santa Clara, California | | June 30, 2009 I went here twice. Once o eat and once for beer. The food is OK and beer is not that great. They have Steelhead in Oregon and the beer there is awesome. Different brewers equal different results. I’ll have to try again sometime. | | Lubiere (349), Ottawa, Ontario | | March 8, 2009 Good location, in front of the Caltrain station and the Burlingame shuttle. The place is quite big, with high 1900s brick walls, and a long bar. Service was attentive. Did not eat there but grub was varied and seemed good. Beers where solid, with only the lighter fare a bit of a letdown. The 8 beer sampler is around 10$. | | Taverner (82), San Ramon, California | | January 13, 2008 Fairly good, the food is better than the beer, but the beer isn’t bad. So that says something about the food. Always crowded, and a bit more upscale than other breweries, but not bad. Good ales. | | MullMan (29), New Jersey | | June 19, 2005 always crowded, lots of families and after work people. perky waitstaff. walking distance from where I lived in "the Game" for seven years. above average brews and mediocre food, but pizzas are allright. no windows in the pool area, so I could never be there during the daytime. nice place to meet with friends. why so few ratings? there’s lots of other fun stuff to do in the area, and Burlingame peeps aren’t that into beer. | | ElGaucho (183), Minnetonka, Minnesota | | February 6, 2005 This place is much bigger than I thought it would be, my preconceived notion coming from visit a few years ago to the Steelhead in Fisherman’s Wharf, which is considerably smaller. There is a large back room devoted exclusively to pool tables, which also has its own bar where all of the beers are available. The main room is very large with high ceilings and was quite loud when I was there between 9-Midnight on a Saturday night. I was pleasantly surprised by the beers themselves, which were better than a relatively few number of ratings in a large metropolitan area would suggest. I really enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to any Ratebeerian visiting the area. You can nail down a good 8-10 ratings by ordering their sampler. Parking is available on the street or in one of the 8-10 spaces located in the small lot directly behind the brewpub. |
