This was the best pub we visited on a weekend beer trip to Cambridge (early Dec 2011): I love Adnam’s beers and having eight different ones on cask was heart-warming to see. They also had keg beers but I got target fixation on the hand pulls and can’t remember beers I’ve no interest in, I suppose there was a lager of some sort and maybe an Irish Stout, could have been a bank of fonts for all I know. This isn’t a posh pub; it’s a proper drinking place with furniture that is functional more than comfy or smart. We secured a table on arrival and although fairly full there was enough room for everybody who entered after us and those that wanted could have found a seat in any of the rooms I saw. Locals were friendly, we chatted to two couples during our stay, beer lovers and amiable, just like it should be. Split level pub with several drinking areas, all served by the central bar, service was fine and considering how busy it was the staff coped admirably and pleasantly. Didn’t ask any beery questions because I knew all the beers, but they all knew how to pull a pint so no problems with the service at all. The four different beers I had along with the dark rum before walking back to our hotel were all in good order, my friends drinks also well received.

Nice place outside of city center. It’s Adnams pub, but they have also other beers. Evenings is quite full of people. Service is good. They serve also food, but we didn’t ate there. Worth for a visit.
