| Glouglouburp (259), Montreal, Quebec | | January 17, 2010 Grocery located on the second floor of a commercial building. A nice grocery store but up to par with what I’m used to with the excellent Whole Foods. Same with the beer. Half-decent selection with the Rogue, Avery, Dogfish, Pretty Things, Otter Creek, Harpoon, etc. But unlike other Whole Foods (one in NYC is particularly good) this one mostly carries the basic lineups. A lot of affordable 6-packs and affordable bombers but they don’t seem to carry the one-shot or more pricey brews. I feel I’d go back in six months and they’d have pretty much the same selection. A little bit of a letdown. | | mvcramer (16), Lexington, Massachusetts | | August 12, 2007 It’s a grocery store. Yeah, it’s a nice big grocery store that’s clean, but it’s still a grocery store. They have a good selection of beers that are a step above mass domestics and the usual micros - you can find Rogue, Dogfish, etc - but that’s it. Some belgians too. But again - it’s just a grocery store. | | ABUSEDGOAT (57), California | | July 19, 2005 I can’t believe this counts as a ’place.’ It’s a grocery store. One of those ’liberal ones’ with lotsa funky organic foods and such. It will have your usual coke and whatever you want too. The selection is good. I believe the highest rated beer (on this site) was Dogfish head’s stout. It has lotsa belgians, lambics and tons of micro brews. Prices are reasonable but no bargains. Service was low because the girl at the checkout seemed less than thrilled to be there... not that I could necessarily blame her. | | fly (203), austin, Tejas, Alabama | | November 5, 2004 Pretty decent selection with one or two stellar items and a fair range of regionals. Had to give the staff grief (w/ me coming from Austin) for being so damn conservative - no tats or piercings - wazzup wit dat? |
